Foreign diplomats believe that public confidence in elections in  Armenia was unprecedented

ArmInfo.On December 18, Armenian First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan took part in the meeting of the steering committee of the electoral assistance program  in Armenia, the press service of the government of Armenia reports.

According to the source, the head of the CEC of Armenia, Tigran  Mukuchyan, noted that despite the complexity of the electoral system,  only 4,700 ballots were declared invalid during the early  parliamentary elections held on December 9, 2018, while in 2017 the  number of invalid ballots was 7500.

 According to the head of the CEC, 4,000 electoral identification  devices were installed at polling stations, 16 of which were replaced  on Election Day, and there were no violations in the operation of the  devices. 

Accordingly, there were no statements, complaints, and technical  shortcomings regarding the work of the cameras, as well as failures  during the live broadcast. 84 information boards were installed on  the territory of the republic, 2 radio programs were developed and  distributed to citizens who were the first to vote on Election Day,  80,000 medals were sent out.  In turn, the heads of diplomatic  missions, referring to the preliminary reports of international  observation missions, stated that the level of public confidence in  the elections was unprecedented compared with other elections ever  held in Armenia. UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp  congratulated the Armenian government and the Armenian people on  truly free, fair and transparent elections.

CEC Chairman Mukuchyan said that at the moment the Central Election  Commission did not receive complaints from political parties or any  candidate, and not a single request was received asking for a full  recount.
