          <title>Armenian Cinema Fund postpons screening ofArmenian program at Annecy  Festival due to dispute over film rights</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The Armenian Cinema&amp;nbsp;Fund reported that the French company Kissani Films, citing an&amp;nbsp;agreement signed in the 1990s, claimed exclusive rights to&amp;nbsp;approximately 250 films that constitute part of the Armenian&amp;nbsp; cinematic heritage.

Given the importance of the issue and the need for a comprehensive&amp;nbsp; study of the legal circumstances, the Fund has decided to temporarily&amp;nbsp; postpone the screening of the Armenian program scheduled for the&amp;nbsp; Classics section of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The Fund emphasized that Armenian cinematic heritage is a vital part&amp;nbsp; of national memory and cultural identity, and its preservation,&amp;nbsp; popularization, and international promotion remain one of the&amp;nbsp; organization&amp;#39;s priorities.

According to a message published on the Foundation&amp;#39;s official&amp;nbsp; Facebook page, a comprehensive investigation will be conducted in&amp;nbsp; connection with the current situation, involving relevant specialists&amp;nbsp; and competent authorities. &amp;nbsp;

This was stated by Armenian Minister of Health&amp;nbsp;Anahit Avanesyan, welcoming the participants of the 15th National&amp;nbsp; Congress of the Armenian Association of Cardiologists.

According to the minister, along with expanding access to medical&amp;nbsp; care and services, it is necessary to ensure continuous improvement&amp;nbsp; of the professional competencies of specialists.

          <title>Relations between Armenia and Nordic countries based on mutual  respect, trust, and shared values - Mher Grigoryan</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The experience of the&amp;nbsp;Nordic countries demonstrates that a sustainable and competitive&amp;nbsp;state develops not only thanks to economic progress, but also to&amp;nbsp;respect for human dignity and a high level of public trust. This was&amp;nbsp;stated by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan at an event&amp;nbsp;dedicated to the national holidays of the Nordic countries, which was&amp;nbsp; held as part of the Nordic Days festival.

He emphasized that these principles have ensured the stable&amp;nbsp; development and prosperity of this region and have become an example&amp;nbsp; for the international community.

Grigoryan noted that such events provide an opportunity to reiterate&amp;nbsp; the importance of the ideas and principles on which the Nordic&amp;nbsp; countries are founded, namely democracy, human rights, the rule of&amp;nbsp; law, social solidarity, as well as a special attention to education&amp;nbsp; and innovation. &amp;quot;We highly value the contribution of the Nordic&amp;nbsp; countries to strengthening global peace, sustainable development, and&amp;nbsp; international cooperation. This experience is particularly&amp;nbsp; significant in the face of modern challenges, when close cooperation&amp;nbsp; between states is needed more than ever,&amp;quot; the Deputy Prime Minister&amp;nbsp; said.

He noted with satisfaction that friendly relations have developed&amp;nbsp; between Armenia and the Nordic countries, based on mutual respect,&amp;nbsp; trust, and shared values. &amp;quot;We are confident that these ties will&amp;nbsp; continue to develop, promoting the expansion of economic, cultural,&amp;nbsp; educational, and scientific cooperation,&amp;quot; Grigoryan said.

According to him, the Armenian government also highly values the&amp;nbsp; consistent support of the Nordic countries in deepening the&amp;nbsp; partnership between Armenia and the European Union, as well as in&amp;nbsp; advancing the reforms being implemented in the country. &amp;nbsp;

          <title>Mher Grigoryan: Accumulated experience of Armenian-Russian  cooperation valuable asset to preserve regardless of configuration of  international relations</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;The accumulated&amp;nbsp;experience of Armenian-Russian cooperation is a long-term,&amp;nbsp;fundamental, and valuable asset that is important to preserve&amp;nbsp; regardless of the configuration of international relations. Armenian&amp;nbsp; Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated this at a reception&amp;nbsp; hosted by the Russian Embassy in Armenia on the occasion of Russia&amp;nbsp; Day, a national holiday.

He expressed hope that existing issues and disagreements will be&amp;nbsp; successfully resolved through open dialogue, and that relations&amp;nbsp; between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation will&amp;nbsp; continue to develop in a spirit of mutual understanding, respect, and&amp;nbsp; good-neighborliness for the benefit of our states and peoples.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Armenia and Russia are bound&amp;nbsp; by centuries-old historical relations based on mutual respect, strong&amp;nbsp; friendship, and close humanitarian ties between our peoples. &amp;quot;We&amp;nbsp; highly value the history of our cooperation and are convinced that&amp;nbsp; the further development of bilateral cooperation serves the interests&amp;nbsp; of both countries and contributes to strengthening stability and&amp;nbsp; prosperity in the region,&amp;quot; Grigoryan said.

In his speech, he wished the Russian Federation peace, prosperity,&amp;nbsp; and success, and the citizens of Russia happiness, well-being, and&amp;nbsp; confidence in the future.

The Armenian side was represented at the reception by Parliament&amp;nbsp; Speaker Alen Simonyan and his deputy Ruben Rubinyan. Also present&amp;nbsp; were Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Territorial&amp;nbsp; Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, and other&amp;nbsp; officials.

          <title>Court grants motion to remand son of Armenia`s former finance  minister into custody</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;A public criminal&amp;nbsp;prosecution has been initiated against Artem Khachatryan, the son of&amp;nbsp;former Finance Minister and former Chairman of the State Revenue&amp;nbsp;Committee Gagik Khachatryan. According to Armenian media, this was&amp;nbsp;stated in a statement by Gagik Khachatryan&amp;#39;s legal team.

The charges are based on the allegation that he is connected to a&amp;nbsp; criminal case, under investigation since 2019, concerning abuse of&amp;nbsp; office and embezzlement of public funds on an especially large scale.&amp;nbsp; The defense stated that Artem Khachatryan has no connection to the&amp;nbsp; case, and that the criminal prosecution itself is aimed solely at&amp;nbsp; putting pressure on the Khachatryan family.

According to the source, the court granted Artem Khachatryan&amp;#39;s motion&amp;nbsp; to remand him in custody. &amp;quot;This is despite the fact that a&amp;nbsp; preliminary investigation into the incident he is accused of was&amp;nbsp; conducted back in 2019-2020, and no evidence of a crime was found&amp;nbsp; even then. However, several days before the elections, the same&amp;nbsp; incident was unexpectedly and illegally classified as a crime solely&amp;nbsp; for the purpose of securing the arrest of the individuals in&amp;nbsp; question,&amp;quot; the statement reads.

The lawyers also reported that Artem Khachatryan has been abroad&amp;nbsp; since May 30, where, following a medical examination, he was ordered&amp;nbsp; not to leave a medical facility until June 19 and to undergo the&amp;nbsp; necessary treatment. The relevant documents are available and were&amp;nbsp; presented to the body conducting the case. However, the lawyers noted&amp;nbsp; that even these well-founded medical documents were ignored by the&amp;nbsp; investigative body, which illegally petitioned the court to remand&amp;nbsp; Artem Khachatryan in custody.

&amp;quot;The court&amp;#39;s unfounded decision to remand Artem Khachatryan in&amp;nbsp; custody will undoubtedly be appealed to the Court of Appeals. Until&amp;nbsp; then, we urge and strongly recommend that justice agencies act solely&amp;nbsp; within the law and not succumb to so-called provocations by the&amp;nbsp; political authorities,&amp;quot; the statement reads.

          <title> Russian Ambassador: Russian-Armenian relations enter phase of  reassessment and adaptation to evolving global and regional realities</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Today,&amp;nbsp;Russian-Armenian relations have reached a stage of reassessment and&amp;nbsp;adaptation to changing global and regional realities, as stated by &amp;nbsp;the Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergei Kopyrkin, during a formal&amp;nbsp;reception marking Russia Day on June 12.

According to him, the world is currently facing a growing need for a&amp;nbsp; new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia, &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; adequate to modern challenges. He noted that geopolitical instability&amp;nbsp; directly impacts the South Caucasus region. &amp;quot;The Russian Federation,&amp;nbsp; as an historically inseparable component thereof, remains entirely&amp;nbsp; determined to provide a constructive and productive contribution&amp;nbsp; toward ensuring stability, economic advancement, and transport&amp;nbsp; connectivity among regional states. I am confident that our strategic&amp;nbsp; objectives in this domain converge entirely with the national&amp;nbsp; interests of the Republic of Armenia,&amp;quot; the Ambassador asserted.

He expressed conviction that today, Russian-Armenian interstate&amp;nbsp; cooperation relies on a stable and mutually respectful political&amp;nbsp; dialogue at the highest and high levels, as well as&amp;nbsp; intergovernmental, interparliamentary, and interagency formats,&amp;nbsp; interregional contacts, and a solid legal framework. &amp;quot;However, at the&amp;nbsp; same time, it is obvious that our relations have reached a stage of&amp;nbsp; reassessment and adaptation to changing global and regional&amp;nbsp; realities. Moscow is fully prepared to work together in a&amp;nbsp; constructive, mutually beneficial manner based on existing bilateral&amp;nbsp; mechanisms. That being said, I would like to emphasize that the&amp;nbsp; Russian side has never questioned, and does not question, the&amp;nbsp; undeniable right of the Republic of Armenia to a sovereign foreign&amp;nbsp; policy,&amp;quot; Kopyrkin stressed.

In this regard, he noted that the Russian side expects Yerevan&amp;#39;s&amp;nbsp; cooperation with other partners not to harm bilateral ties and not to&amp;nbsp; be directed against Russia. &amp;quot;The multifaceted ties between our&amp;nbsp; peoples, interpersonal contacts, our joint victories&amp;mdash;above all over&amp;nbsp; Nazism during the Great Patriotic War&amp;mdash;and outstanding achievements&amp;nbsp; are an invaluable heritage that goes back centuries. A large Armenian&amp;nbsp; diaspora lives in Russia. A crucial factor bringing our peoples&amp;nbsp; together is a deep reverence for their history, a desire to preserve&amp;nbsp; identity, as well as spiritual, religious, and family values,&amp;quot; the&amp;nbsp; Ambassador recalled.

To deepen humanitarian cooperation, Kopyrkin noted that there are&amp;nbsp; plans to hold the Days of Armenian Culture in Russia (in Moscow) and&amp;nbsp; the Days of Spiritual Culture in Armenia by the end of this year. He&amp;nbsp; also highlighted that Russia firmly maintains its top position among&amp;nbsp; Armenia&amp;#39;s foreign trade partners, leading in terms of remittances and&amp;nbsp; foreign tourist inflows. &amp;quot;Companies with Russian capital are among&amp;nbsp; the largest taxpayers and make a significant contribution to the&amp;nbsp; socio-economic development of the Republic. &amp;nbsp;To a large extent, these&amp;nbsp; results are secured by our joint efforts to unlock the potential of&amp;nbsp; Eurasian economic integration,&amp;quot; Kopyrkin added.

Concluding his speech, the Ambassador noted that he was sincerely&amp;nbsp; glad to celebrate Russia Day once again on hospitable Armenian soil.&amp;nbsp; &amp;quot;I am confident that our Armenian friends, Russian citizens who are&amp;nbsp; in the country on duty and by the call of their hearts, compatriots&amp;nbsp; living here, and all friends of Russia share this festive mood with&amp;nbsp; us. I wish everyone health, peace, and prosperity! Happy holiday!&amp;nbsp; Happy Russia Day!&amp;quot; the Ambassador concluded.

          <title>Kocharyan: Violations recorded during Armenian parliamentary  elections sufficient to deem them illegitimate</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The violations&amp;nbsp;recorded during the regular parliamentary elections in Armenia are&amp;nbsp;sufficient to declare them illegitimate, as stated by Armenia&amp;#39;s&amp;nbsp; second president, leader of the &amp;quot;Armenia&amp;quot; bloc, Robert Kocharyan,&amp;nbsp; speaking to journalists.

According to the second president, it is essential to understand that&amp;nbsp; electoral processes are not limited to election day itself but span&amp;nbsp; the entire cycle, including the campaign period. &amp;quot;Unprecedented&amp;nbsp; violations were recorded throughout these processes. Without a doubt,&amp;nbsp; any of these violations could have influenced the election results,&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp; Kocharyan stated confidently.

He subdivided the violations into several categories. The first&amp;nbsp; category, according to the former president, is the external support&amp;nbsp; provided to the authorities during the electoral process. According&amp;nbsp; to Kocharyan, this is the first time such an occurrence has taken&amp;nbsp; place in Armenia. &amp;quot;There were enough statements during this period to&amp;nbsp; assert that there was external influence on the electoral processes,&amp;nbsp; which could have affected the election results,&amp;quot; the bloc leader&amp;nbsp; believes.

The second category, Kocharyan continued, involves unprecedented&amp;nbsp; state budget expenditures, which he argued could easily be described&amp;nbsp; as electoral bribery. &amp;quot;These include pension increases that were not&amp;nbsp; slated in the approved state budget for this year. One can also point&amp;nbsp; to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan&amp;#39;s sudden resolution of the driver&amp;#39;s&amp;nbsp; license reinstatement issue for citizens who had been stripped of&amp;nbsp; their licenses under the demerit point system. These are all examples&amp;nbsp; of the abuse of administrative resources. According to various&amp;nbsp; estimates, we are talking about the deployment of $1 billion that had&amp;nbsp; not been budgeted for,&amp;quot; Kocharyan noted.

Finally, as the second president of Armenia noted, there is pressure&amp;nbsp; exerted on the opposition, including through arrests. According to&amp;nbsp; Kocharyan, even if one were to combine the total number of arrests&amp;nbsp; from all previous electoral cycles in Armenia, they would not exceed&amp;nbsp; the figures recorded during the 2026 elections. &amp;nbsp;&amp;quot;The objective is&amp;nbsp; clear&amp;mdash;to disrupt the operations of opposition campaign headquarters.&amp;nbsp; This factor alone was enough to label these elections illegitimate.&amp;nbsp; Now imagine all four tools being utilized simultaneously. &amp;nbsp;All of&amp;nbsp; this leads to a single conclusion: these parliamentary elections in&amp;nbsp; Armenia cannot be considered legitimate,&amp;quot; the leader of the &amp;quot;Armenia&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp; bloc declared.

Kocharyan recalled that they intend to appeal to the Constitutional&amp;nbsp; Court in this regard. However, he clarified that they have no&amp;nbsp; expectations from the court itself. As the second president of&amp;nbsp; Armenia clarified, it is important that the that the hearings will be&amp;nbsp; open to the public, meaning they can use this platform to once again&amp;nbsp; demonstrate to the citizens of Armenia how these elections actually&amp;nbsp; unfolded. Kocharyan also commented on their stance regarding whether&amp;nbsp; to accept or reject their parliamentary mandates. He noted that they&amp;nbsp; do not yet have a final decision, as discussions with other&amp;nbsp; opposition forces must first take place. &amp;nbsp;Nevertheless, the political&amp;nbsp; struggle must be sustained, utilizing the full spectrum of available&amp;nbsp; mechanisms. &amp;nbsp;Parliamentary mandates represent one such instrument.&amp;nbsp; However, a final determination remains pending,&amp;quot; Kocharyan concluded. &amp;nbsp;

          <title>Court extends pretrial  detention for defendant in Azat village  military barracks fire case</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;An Armenian court&amp;nbsp;has extended the pretrial detention of Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan, a&amp;nbsp;defendant in the case involving the fatal fire at a military barracks&amp;nbsp;in Azat village, for an additional three months. The ruling was&amp;nbsp;handed down during today&amp;#39;s session by Judge Vardan Harutyunyan, the&amp;nbsp; Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of the Gegharkunik&amp;nbsp; Region. &amp;nbsp;&amp;quot;Having heard the arguments from both sides, the court has&amp;nbsp; decided to extend the detention of the accused, Yeghishe Hakobyan,&amp;nbsp; for another three months,&amp;quot; the judge announced during the hearing.

Recall, 15 servicemen were killed overnight on January 19 during a&amp;nbsp; fire in the building housing an engineering and sapper company at a&amp;nbsp; military base located in the village of Azat, Gegharkunik Region. An&amp;nbsp; officer and four conscripts sustained injuries in the incident.&amp;nbsp; According to the authorities, the fire broke out due to a violation&amp;nbsp; of fire safety protocols. The preliminary investigation established&amp;nbsp; that after midnight on January 19, 2023, an officer of the&amp;nbsp; engineering and sapper company of an Armenian Ministry of Defense&amp;nbsp; military unit violated established procedures at House No. 20, 1st&amp;nbsp; Street in Azat village, by attempting to light a stove using&amp;nbsp; gasoline, which triggered the blaze in the barracks. Due to the lack&amp;nbsp; of proper fire protection measures, the servicemen inside the shelter&amp;nbsp; were unable to extinguish the fire. Furthermore, the absence of an&amp;nbsp; emergency exit prevented them from breaking through the iron bars&amp;nbsp; fixed to the windows. &amp;nbsp;Following the tragedy, the entire command&amp;nbsp; staff of the Second Army Corps was dismissed. Five individuals are&amp;nbsp; currently being prosecuted as defendants in connection with the case.&amp;nbsp;

          <title>&amp;quot;Wings of Unity&amp;quot; party intends to file petition with Central  Electoral Commission  to invalidate parliamentary elections</title>
		  <description>ArmInfo.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The &amp;quot;Wings of&amp;nbsp;Unity&amp;quot; party intends to file a petition with the Central Electoral&amp;nbsp;Commission (CEC) demanding that the recent parliamentary elections in&amp;nbsp;Armenia be declared invalid.

According to the party&amp;#39;s press service, they are also calling for a&amp;nbsp; re-vote. &amp;quot;The party will soon submit an application to the CEC to&amp;nbsp; recognize the results of the parliamentary elections as invalid and&amp;nbsp; to hold a repeated vote,&amp;quot; the political force stated.

Recall, the latest parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on&amp;nbsp; June 7, 2026. Voter turnout was 58.97%. &amp;nbsp;According to preliminary&amp;nbsp; data from the Central Election Commission of Armenia, Nikol&amp;nbsp; Pashinyan&amp;#39;s ruling Civil Contract party, Samvel Karapetyan&amp;#39;s Strong&amp;nbsp; Armenia bloc, and second president Robert Kocharyan&amp;#39;s Armenia bloc&amp;nbsp; have all entered parliament. The remaining candidates&amp;#39; results are&amp;nbsp; below the required threshold of 4% for parties and 8-10% for blocs.&amp;nbsp; Notably, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan&amp;#39;s Prosperous Armenia party lost&amp;nbsp; the 4% threshold after the Central Election Commission adjusted the&amp;nbsp; preliminary vote counts for the June 7 parliamentary elections.&amp;nbsp; Consequently, the party initiated a recount at several polling&amp;nbsp; stations, which revealed that the party&amp;#39;s votes had been stolen.&amp;nbsp; Following this, the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia, at its&amp;nbsp; extraordinary meeting on June 11, annulled the results of polling&amp;nbsp; stations No. 10/51 and No. 35/65. These are the very same stations&amp;nbsp; where the party had received the most votes. &amp;nbsp;Due to this, the party&amp;nbsp; may not enter the new parliament. &amp;nbsp;
