Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said this in the National Assembly, responding to parliamentarians’ questions.
, the minister said.
In addition to the standard, she noted that the state had initiated a large amount of work in the education sector, which would also affect the level of education in the country’s schools. Andreasyan noted that this involved introducing laboratories in schools, building new schools, improving teachers’ qualifications, and more.
, she stressed, refuting various statements coming from opposition circles that 229 schools had closed in the country.
It should be recalled that Armenia took part in the international PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) study for the first time in 2025. The testing, conducted from March to May 2025, involved 6,804 students from 293 schools across the country (approximately 80% of all 15-year-olds in Armenia). The average scores of Armenian schoolchildren were below the average level of the countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
