ArmInfo.  The South Caucasus is entering a new phase of turbulence, but it is unclear whether the current Armenian authorities, led by Nikol Pashinyan, are prepared to  withstand it. ArmInfo."Strong Armenia" bloc leader Samvel Karapetyan announced the opposition will hold a rally of "strength and trust," the goal of which is to gain genuine public support.  He made this announcement at a meeting with editors of several media outlets, during which he outlined the steps he believes  the collective opposition should take to overcome the crisis that has  arisen in Armenia following the parliamentary elections.

ArmInfo. The November 9, 2020, ceasefire agreement did not grant the Russian peacekeepers any mandate, and the Armenian Prime Minister's actions on the Artsakh  issue have relegated these peacekeepers to the status of outside  observers. This was stated by Robert Kocharyan, the second president  of Armenia and leader of the "Armenia" bloc, on the Public Television  of Armenia.

ArmInfo.One of the campaign promises of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), led by the first president of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, is the construction of a railway station near the Tatev Monastery Complex. This was anounced by Levon Zurabyan, the ANC candidate for Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia,  on his Facebook page.

ArmInfo. President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Armenian Nikol Pashinyan ahead of Armenia's June 7, 2026 elections in a post published on Truth Social, praising him as "a great friend and leader" and voicing support for his re-election.

ArmInfo.For the successful implementation of the "Trump route" (TRIPP) project, it is necessary for Azerbaijan to withdraw its armed forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia and release illegally held Armenian prisoners of  war. Arman Tatoyan, prime ministerial candidate for the Wings of Unity party, made this public appeal to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in connection with the American official's upcoming visit to Yerevan today.

ArmInfo.  Russia has proposed creating a "road for Russian President Vladimir Putin" to Armenia. This was stated by Vladislav Gasumyanov, Director of the National Research Institute for Development of Communications, at the international conference "Russia and the World: Dialogues - 2026. New Reality," Lenta.ru reports.

ArmInfo. US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in Beijing on the morning of May 14, lasting over two hours. During the meeting, both sides expressed optimism about normalizing relations, despite differences over Taiwan, trade, and the war in Iran. These were the first face-to-face talks between Trump and Xi since their meeting in South Korea in October 2025.

ArmInfo. The Trump administration's dealmaking blitz with Belarus has secured the release of hundreds of detainees. By trading targeted sanctions  relief for the release of political prisoners in Belarus, the White  House has helped free more than five hundred people from unjust  captivity. A similar deal with Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus would  produce major rewards, with much less risk, Atlantic Council experts  believe. 

ArmInfo.  Armenia intends to ratify the Board of Peace Charter established by US President Donald Trump. At its April 30 meeting, the RA Government approved a bill  on the ratification of the document. It will be submitted to  the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
