ArmInfo.  Over 100 representatives of science, culture, and sports have issued a joint statement in support of Gagik Tsarukyan, President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia.  The statement expresses outrage and concern over "the unprecedented and unfair pressure" being exerted  against Tsarukyan.

ArmInfo. The Armenian sports world was revived thanks to the tenure of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan as President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC). This was written on Facebook by Prosperous Armenia Party Press Secretary Ivetta Tonoyan in response to statements by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia, that Tsarukyan, already 70 years old, is ineligible to serve as  President of the NOC.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the  Weightlifting Federation, whose president is Arayik Harutyunyan,  Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. The  notice of the lawsuit was published on the judicial information  portal datalex.am.
