ArmInfo. Starting this autumn, citizens of the Republic of Armenia will be able to apply for new biometric passports and ID cards under a modernized civil  documentation system. Nelly Davtyan, Acting Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, announced  the updated fee structure and procedural guidelines during a press conference on August 14, 2026.

ArmInfo.More than 40,000 forcibly displaced residents from Nagorno-Karabakh have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, according to Nelly  Davtyan, Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Speaking at a press conference on  August 14, 2026, Davtyan provided an update on the integration and legal status of individuals displaced following the events of  September 2023.  Out of the total number of new citizens, over 12,000 are minors, she noted.
