ArmInfo.   Vocational education institutions in Armenia will be licensed. At its May 22 meeting, the RA National Assembly Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth, and Sports issued a positive opinion on the amendments to the Law "On Vocational Education and Training" and a  package of related laws submitted by the RA government.

ArmInfo.  April 2 marks World Autism Awareness Day.An annual public awareness event titled “I Am Not Like You, But I Am One of You” was held at the “My Way” Social-Habilitation, Educational and Vocational Training Day Care Center.

ArmInfo.The share of children with disabilities attending special schools in Armenia has decreased from 37.5% in 2015 to 6.5% in 2023. This means that the majority of these children are now enrolled in public secondary  schools, as stated in the UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report, presented at the annual meeting of the UNESCO Global Education Coalition. 

ArmInfo. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MECS) of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, will participate in the World Forum for Democracy, organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

Aida Aylarova. 

ArmInfo. In 2025, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MECS) of Armenia  intends to implement several major programs. This was stated by the head of the department Zhanna Andreasyan on October 29 during the hearings in the National Assembly committees on the draft state budget of the country for 2025.

ArmInfo.After the forced displacement of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, more than 5,000  monuments and more than 20 museums have been faced with an existential threat in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan, Armenia's Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan said at her meeting with Mr Rafik Mansour, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Bureau of Educational and  Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State.  Attending the meeting was also U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien. 

ArmInfo. Over the past seven years, progress has been made and good practices developed in the  field of inclusive education, migrant integration, and anti-discrimination legislation in Armenia.

ArmInfo. On June 30, 2022, the U.S. Embassy celebrated the 246th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America with an evening music, American food,  and fireworks.  At the event, U.S. Ambassador Lynne Tracy reaffirmed  U.S. support for democratic development in Armenia.

ArmInfo.The Armenian government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will allocate 986 million drams to implement the program to improve the seismic  conditions of schools (of which 80% - ADB loans, 20% - the  government). This is stated on the Facebook page of the Ministry of  Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.

ArmInfo. The Armenian side counts on the support of international organizations, in particular the UN, in preserving the historical and cultural heritage in the  territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan as a result of  the 2020 war.

ArmInfo. Systemic problems have accumulated in the sphere of ensuring the right to education of children with disabilities. Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan stated this yesterday at the first meeting of the Public Council for the  Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under the Human  Rights Defender.

ArmInfo.The RA Ombudsman received a number of complaints from students and their parents in connection with the resumption of classes from September 15, 2020 and the mandatory requirement for students to wear masks in schools. The office of the human rights defender informs about it.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia initiates the process of developing a clear state policy in the field of preschool  education.  At a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the  Armenian government approved a draft decision on introducing  amendments to the law "On Preschool Education" on September 19.

ArmInfo. Director of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Silvia Montoya, noted that the Armenian authorities are trying to carry out reforms aimed at creating equal  conditions in education.
