ArmInfo.  An Armenian court has extended the pretrial detention of Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan, a defendant in the case involving the fatal fire at a military barracks in Azat village, for an additional three months. The ruling was handed down during today's session by Judge Vardan Harutyunyan, the  Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of the Gegharkunik  Region.  "Having heard the arguments from both sides, the court has  decided to extend the detention of the accused, Yeghishe Hakobyan,  for another three months," the judge announced during the hearing.

On May 27, 2026, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan overturned the decisions of September 20, 1999, to terminate criminal prosecution against Arsen Khachatryan and Armen Khachatryan, the bodyguards of Artsrun Margaryan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and National Security  of the Republic of Armenia. The decisions were overturned based on newly emerging circumstances and the findings of the Investigative  Committee.

ArmInfo.Strong Armenia party board member Alik Aleksanyan, who is accused by investigators of providing material incentives for citizens to participate in rallies and large-scale money laundering, has been remanded in custody for two months. His lawyer, Armen Feroyan, told reporters this.

ArmInfo. The car of Armen Aleksanyan, an opposition blogger implicated in the "Sacred Struggle" case, was set on fire overnight in Armenia. Aleksanyan himself reported the incident on his Facebook page, sharing footage of the  aftermath.  Commenting on the situation, the blogger stated that the  arson occurred after he exited his vehicle while en route to the  village of Musaler.
