"Strong Armenia": If Armenian authorities had heeded Samvel  Karapetyan`s call during the 44-day war, the lives of 3,500 Armenian  children would have been saved

ArmInfo. If the Armenian authorities had heeded the call of Strong Armenia party chairman Samvel Karapetyan and ended the war a day earlier during the 44-day war in 2020, the lives of 3,500 Armenian children would have been saved.

Narek Karapetyan, a member of the political council of the "Strong Armenia" party, wrote on his Facebook page, in response to a post by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.

Harutunyan stated on his page that Samvel Karapetyan "has urged the  parties, that is, his state, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, to sit down at  the negotiating table." In this vein, he called on Karapetyan's  supporters not to speak about this issue "because they will find  themselves in a losing situation."

"The Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia complains about  Samvel Karapetyan calling on the parties to resolve the outcome of  the 44-day war of 2020 through negotiations. If you had followed  Karapetyan's call and stopped the war a day earlier, the lives of  3,500 Armenian sons would have been saved. If you had followed his  call and not been so arrogantly short-sighted, the war would have  ended a day earlier, and Hadrut, Shushi, Berdzor, and Karvachar would  have been saved under the known conditions," a party council member  wrote in this regard.

He also noted that, like then, today Samvel Karapetyan  is warning of  an impending threat, this time of an economic war with Russia, the  price of which every Armenian will pay, at the expense of their own  children-every Armenian, except for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan.

Recall, Samvel Karapetyan had addressed the outcomes of the Armenian  Prime Minister's visit to Moscow and subsequent statements made by  the Russian side. Specifically, he noted that Armenian Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan's consistent actions have turned the country into a  geopolitical conflict zone. According to Karapetyan, the Armenian  authorities' actions have led to Armenian people now facing a choice:  an economic war unleashed with Russia in July over Pashinyan's  policies, or the changes their political force intends to implement  in the country following the parliamentary elections in June.

It should be added that Putin and Pashinyan held talks in Moscow on  April 1. The meeting took place in a rather tense atmosphere, with  the parties exchanging mutual accusations. The Russian President  emphasized the impossibility of Armenia simultaneously being a member  of  the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union. The Russian side, at the  level of Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, made it clear that  Armenia's accession to the EU would lead to the cessation of air  traffic between the two countries, as well as the severance of  economic relations between Moscow and Yerevan.
