In 2025, 124 real estate properties were returned to state ownership

ArmInfo. 124 real estate properties have been returned to state ownership, the number of criminal cases referred to court has increased by 23.8%, and  preliminary investigation periods have been reduced. This is stated  in the published report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office  for 2025.

According to the press service of the supervisory body, ten sections  of the report present the work carried out within the constitutional  authority of the Prosecutor's Office in 2025. RA Prosecutor General  Anna Vardapetyan, in particular, noted in the preface to the report:  "For the fourth year now, I have the honor to present the annual  report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic  of Armenia. In 2025, as a result of judicial decisions, 124 real  estate properties with a cadastral value close to the market value,  worth approximately 66 billion 934 million drams, were returned to  the ownership or possession of the Republic of Armenia and  communities. These include kindergartens, cultural centers, stadiums,  natural monuments, parks, and land plots. In 2025, the first verdict  on the confiscation of property of illegal origin entered into force.  The trend of reducing preliminary investigation periods, recorded in  recent years, continued in 2025. More than half of the criminal cases  completed in 2025 (53.4%) were considered within 2 months, which is  11.3% more than the corresponding figure for 2024.

Compared to the average for the past eight years, the proportion of  petitions filed with the court for pretrial detention as a preventive  measure decreased by 2.5% in 2025, relative to the total number of  defendants. In 2025, 3,495, or 9.2% more criminal cases were  completed than in 2024 (2,807 cases). Case materials with approved  indictments were submitted to the court. As part of the criminal  proceedings, from the inception (December 5, 2024) to December 31,  2025, a total of 39 billion 895 million 845 thousand drams were paid  into the Single Account for Refunds and the Single Taxpayer Account.

The Prosecutor's Office's priority in 2025 was effective performance,  following the establishment of new performance evaluation criteria  for the Prosecutor's Offices of the regions and administrative  districts of Yerevan, approved by a decree of the Prosecutor General  of the Republic of Armenia. These criteria include, among other  things, the amount of funds returned to the state and community  through final judicial decisions on claims for the protection of  state and community interests, the number of criminal cases referred  to court with indictments for serious and especially serious crimes,  and the number of final judicial decisions on serious and especially  serious crimes. The requirement for performance, which goes beyond  the Prosecutor's Office's internal performance standards, led to a  change in the public assessment of the Prosecutor's Office's  performance in 2025. According to a public opinion survey conducted  in Armenia at the initiative of the International Republican  Institute, 43% of Armenian citizens are "completely satisfied" and  "somewhat satisfied" with the work of the Prosecutor's Office.  Compared to the previous survey, the satisfaction index has increased  by 6%. I consider this a significant achievement for us as a unified  system, as justice must not only be administered but also be visible  and understandable. I express my gratitude to the prosecutors, the  prosecutor's office staff, and all my colleagues in the law  enforcement and judicial systems for the tangible results recorded in  2025."
