ArmInfo. It would be nice if Serzh Sargsyan, the third president of the Republic of Armenia, participated in the upcoming parliamentary elections. This was stated by Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, to journalists on March 3.
According to the Speaker, he views Serzh Sargsyan as a representative of the political past. "From now on, Serzh Sargsyan is no longer on the country's political stage; he will remain in memory and history as a figure rejected by the people," the Speaker of the National Assembly said.
Speaking about the initiative of the Republican Party, led by Serzh Sargsyan, to initiate a real impeachment process against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Simonyan sarcastically noted that the authorities are in a panic over this initiative. The Speaker of the Parliament reminded that elections are looming, and in this context, talking about impeachment is simply ridiculous. "What impeachment? What street fight? The Republicans don't even have 400 people to participate in the elections. What kind of impeachment are they planning?" the speaker asked.
