First Ambassador of Palestine  to Armenia assumes his diplomatic  mission 

ArmInfo. The first ever Palestinian Ambassador to Armenia, Isa Kassisieni, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan.

According to the press service of the Armenian president,  Khachaturyan congratulated the newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador  on his assumption of office and wished him success in his diplomatic  service.  "You are the first Palestinian ambassador, and this is  another historic fact. I am confident that in this capacity, our  relations will develop in new directions, and together we will seek  ways and opportunities that will enable us to contribute to a way out  of the current situation. This concerns both the establishment of  peace in Palestine and, of course, the establishment of long-term  peace in Armenia and our region," the Armenian President said. In  turn, the Palestinian diplomat emphasized that he would make every  effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Armenia and  Palestine in all areas, particularly culture, education, and  healthcare.

During the meeting,  the parties discussed opportunities for  enhancing cooperation between the two countries, with an emphasis on  intensifying political dialogue and expanding cooperation in various  areas.  In particular, the potential for sharing experiences in the  humanitarian sphere was explored. In this context, the President of  the Republic emphasized Armenia's willingness to provide the  necessary assistance, given Armenia's accumulated experience and  developed capabilities in humanitarian matters.

The interlocutors also touched on regional realities, emphasizing the  importance of adhering to the principles of peace, stability, and  good-neighborliness.

Recall, Armenia officially recognized the State of Palestine on June  21, 2024, reaffirming its commitment to international law and the  "two-state solution" for resolving the conflict. Diplomatic relations  between the countries were established on September 27, 2024.  Moreover, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan joined US President  Donald Trump's the Board of Peace  initiative on Gaza and  participated in  the signing of the Board's charter and its first  meeting.
