Vance thanked Aliyev and Pashinyan for "showing what true leadership can achieve."

ArmInfo. "I think you've shown excellent leadership," said US Vice President J.D. Vance, addressing Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the first meeting of the Peace Council.

According to him, what those present at the first meeting of the Peace Council accomplished was incredible. "We thank all the leaders gathered here today, those who are making a contribution to the future, to peace. We are grateful for your partnership," he said.

And, in particular, Vance continued, he would like to thank the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, with whom he met last week, "for making this possible and showing what true leadership can achieve."

"When you put aside weapons, killing, and destruction and invest everything in your people and prosperity, it can produce good results. I thank both of you for what you've done. I think you've shown excellent leadership," the US Vice President declared.
