Pashinyan-Vance talks held in Yerevan

ArmInfo. Talks were held in Yerevan between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Vice President J.D. Vance, who arrived in the Republic of Armenia on an official visit.

According to the Armenian government's press service, the meeting began in a one-on-one format and then continued in an expanded format with the participation of members of the two countries' delegations.

Pashinyan noted in his speech that the visit was truly historic, as Vance is the first Vice President of the United States and the highest-ranking US official to ever visit the Republic of Armenia. "And this, I believe, is not just a ceremonial nuance, but also a reflection of the events that have occurred in relations between Armenia and the United States in recent years, and especially over the past year. And I want to, having the opportunity to tell you today, highlight my meeting with you a year ago at the White House, which, as became clear later, was of great significance for further development," he said, also expressing gratitude to the President of the United States, Mr. Trump, and Vance for organizing the summit last August, which resulted in peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"A few days ago, we met with the President of Azerbaijan in Abu Dhabi, and we were left with the impression that this peace, as one might expect, is already very close to, if not already crossed, a point that can be considered irreversible. Our main task now is to implement one of the most important points of the peace process and the Washington Declaration, the TRIPP project, in accordance with the framework adopted by the Armenian Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State on January 14, that is, between the two governments," Pashinyan added.

"Our agenda is very full, and I welcome you again to the Republic of Armenia. Today, of course, we have much to discuss, and it is crucial that these discussions be exclusively positive, and that this positive agenda fully reflects the scope and significance of our strategic partnership. Thank you," he added.

In turn, Vance noted that Pashinyan has an excellent team, and all issues were resolved during the bilateral meeting, so the teams don't need to work together.

"I convey our President's greetings to your people, your country. Pashinyan has truly been a partner, and we express our gratitude for his personal friendship and cooperation, our partnership. Much remains to be discussed; at our next event, which is scheduled to take place soon, we will make statements so as not to repeat ourselves. Let me say that this is a very wonderful country, and I am very grateful for the personal hospitality, not only to me but also to my family.

This is one of the oldest Christian countries in the world, and I am very grateful to you and your administration. I sincerely believe that you have the opportunity not only to establish a historic, stable, and irreversible peace, but that we are now at a point where Armenia will become a very serious pillar of economic development in this region, which will also bring prosperity to the people of Armenia, which will also be passed on to the people of the United States. I am very pleased and honored to be the first Vice President to visit Armenia," Vance said.

The Armenian Prime Minister and the US Vice President were then presented with details of the TRIPP project, Firebird's plan to build an artificial intelligence plant and data center in Armenia, and the capabilities of the V-BAT drone, which Armenia acquired from the United States.
