Over the past eight years, everything possible has been done to weaken, divide, and break out the Armenian army – the most combat-ready and victorious army in the region, as noted in a statement issued by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Armed Forces.
"The obsession of the political leadership to blame its mistakes on the army has had consequences for our army. A strong and combat-ready army is the main guarantor of a genuine, long-lasting, and dignified peace for all states, and we cannot be an exception. I am hopeful that we will be able to quickly change the situation around, restore the army's strength and spirit, and ensure stable peace. Glory to all the military personnel who wear the uniform of the Armenian Army with dignity! Eternal glory to our soldiers who fell for the Motherland," Kocharyan's message reads.
