ArmInfo. Two journalists from the Zhogovurd newspaper, Knar Manukyan and Sona Grigoryan, were expelled from the National Assembly of Armenia due to their accreditation being revoked. Meanwhile, Gegham Manukyan, a member of the National Assembly from the opposition Armenia faction, issued passes for both journalists to enter the parliament building. Both journalists were present at a meeting of the National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security.
However, during the meeting, a security service representative entered and demanded that both journalists leave the National Assembly building. In response, Andranik Kocharyan, head of the committee, noted that the media representatives were not interfering with the committee's work, after which the security service representative left the meeting room. However, a short time later, Kocharyan insisted that both Zhogovurd journalists leave the building and announced a recess. In response, Gegham Manukyan told Kocharyan that he had turned parliament into Alen Simonyan's fiefdom.
Knar Manukyan and Sona Grigoryan demanded an explanation from David Arakelyan, head of the parliamentary administration, to which he responded that the two journalists were permitted to be in Gegham Manukyan's office, but not at the committee meeting. He also demanded that the journalists leave the parliament building, after which security services intervened, accompanying both Knar Manukyan and Sona Grigoryan, who left the parliament building, threatening legal action against its leaders.
