MPG: Almost 2/3 of respondents in Armenia believe there are political  prisoners in the country

ArmInfo. In Armenia, 61.3% of respondents believe there are political prisoners in the  country, according to a survey conducted by a consulting company MPG  "Molotok." At the same time, 23% believe there are no political  prisoners in the country, while another 15.7% were undecided.

According to the survey, 61.3% of those surveyed were asked to name  individuals they consider political prisoners. Of these, 64.9% named  Russian businessman of Armenian descent Samvel Karapetyan as a  political prisoner, 36.2% named Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader  of the "Sacred Struggle" movement, 33% named Archbishop Mikael  Ajapahyan, head of the Shirak Diocese, and 19.4% named Vardan  Ghukasyan, mayor of Gyumri. Narek Samsonyan, host of the Imnemnimi  podcast, and Lidiya Mantashyan, a member of the Sacred Struggle  movement, each received 4.7%, Vazgen Saghatelyan, host of the  Imnemnimi podcast, 3.2%, Masis Mayor David Hambardzumyan, 2.9%,  Republican Party Deputy Chairman Armen Ashotyan, 1.4%, and another  14.3% gave a different answer.

Note that the  telephone survey was conducted with 1001 respondents  from November 27 to December 5 in Armenia, with a sampling error  of  +/- 3%.  In 2011, MPG became the official representative in Armenia  of the Gallup International Association, one of the most prestigious  and independent public opinion research organizations in the world.  Since 2003, MPG, has implemented over 800 projects of varying sizes  in the sociological and marketing research market.
