ArmInfo. The Armenian people are paying too high a price for RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's experiments. Azerbaijan expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan writes about this in her article.
According to her, during meetings in Germany, Nikol Pashinyan once again made a very dangerous statement, proposing a joint roadmap, leaving aside the topics of "Western Azerbaijan" and "the return of Karabakh Armenians." He also noted the need to understand the cause-and-effect relationship between these topics. "I would like to touch upon this statement and the dangers associated with it in several points. As for the cause-and-effect relationship or how this topic arose, the best answer to this was given by Ilham Aliyev in his speech on December 24, 2022, when he literally stated: "There has never been Armenia on this territory. Today's Armenia is our land. Now that the Karabakh conflict has been resolved, this issue is on our agenda. Of course, it was premature to talk about this before the Karabakh conflict was resolved. But we must not waste time. It is necessary to develop a concept of return:" This issue surfaced two months after Pashinyan recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. Many Azerbaijani officials directly stated that they could not raise such issues while the Nagorno-Karabakh problem exists. I think the direct language should be clear. This occupation concept is a consequence of Pashinyan's "fantastic" policy on the Nagorno-Karabakh problem," Hayrapetyan noted.
As for the 'rights of refugees', as the expert emphasized, this is an occupation concept; there are no legal issues here. "There's a saying: 'The Armenian state was formed on historical Azerbaijani lands that were taken from the Azerbaijanis.' An entire generation is being raised with this saying: in schools and universities, competitions are organized, essays are written. All of this has gained momentum over the past three years. This could and still can become the biggest headache for Azerbaijan, provided persistent, organized, and very competent work is carried out, but what could become a headache for Azerbaijan is becoming a headache for us thanks to Pashinyan," the political scientist noted.
She added that, in essence, Pashinyan is once again directing against us what can be directed against Azerbaijan. "Even international courts have rejected the issue of [rights] raised by Azerbaijan, so putting it on par with the enshrined and internationally recognized rights of the Armenians of Artsakh, who were subjected to an aggressive war, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement, means once again [doing] a disservice to them." "service" to Aliyev. This proposal, which, it must be said, has already been rejected by Azerbaijani media, only obscures Azerbaijan's real occupation goals and, moreover, lends them a dangerous "legitimacy." His exceptional inability to solve problems is pushing Pashinyan to conduct regular experiments. We paid a very high price for such experiments regarding Artsakh. Now, if this man continues to lead, he will truly make this issue a priority for us. I said that ordinary Azerbaijanis won't come to Armenia; specially trained groups will come with clear occupation plans. This is an exaggeration. This conclusion is based on an analysis of open sources. All of this can be avoided over time, through intellect and hard work. The current Armenian authorities will not do this. But if a pro-government government is formed, this issue is entirely resolvable. The law and the facts are in our hands," the political scientist wrote.
