ArmInfo. At some point, Armenia will have to choose between the European Union and the EAEU; remaining simultaneously in both groups is impossible, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk to reporters, Interfax reports.
"We have repeatedly discussed Armenia's rapprochement with the European Union. We believe that simultaneous membership in both integration groups is incompatible. At some point, the people of Armenia will have to make a corresponding choice," he said. According to him, overall, Armenia and Russia maintain good contacts, but trade between the countries has significantly dropped since 2025. "We have observed a decline in economic trade with Armenia this year, if we're talking about mutual trade between Russia and Armenia. Last year, as you may recall, trade between our countries was $12.4 billion. This year, it is expected to be around $6 billion. This is a very significant drop," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized. According to Overchuk, "Russian businesses have become cautious about doing business with Armenia."
