Shoigu: Trump Road and North-South International Transport Corridor  will not compete with each other

ArmInfo.  The route through Armenia, which has various names, including the Trump Route, and the North-South International Transport Corridor, will not  compete with each other.  Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei  Shoigu told  journalists in Moscow following the 13th Meeting of  Security Council Secretaries of  CIS member states.

Regarding the so-called "Zangezur Corridor," Shoigu recalled that  different countries call this route, which passes through Armenia, by  different names. "I believe that both roads not only have the right  to exist, but are also necessary for connecting Azerbaijan with its  regions and  for creating transport corridors for trade between the  countries. The North-South Highway connects the deep  southern ports  with the Arctic Ocean, and  the Northern Sea Route," he said.

Shoigu added that he sees nothing bad or competitive -someone will  ship something around, bypassing the Russians. He emphasized that  Russia is a vast country with a highly developed transport route,  which, of course, can be bypassed, but questioned the need to do so.
