Heritage: Opposition`s victory in Vagharshapat elections will lead to  nationwide liberation from  ruling regime

ArmInfo.  The opposition's victory in the local government elections in the enlarged community of Vagharshapat in the Armavir region will lead to nationwide liberation from the ruling regime, as stated by Heritage Party  founder Raffi Hovhannisyan during a press conference in Yerevan.

In this context, he emphasized that their party will run in the  elections with the promise of restoring the fundamental pillars of  faith, homeland, conscience, law, and justice to the community. He  also  stated that their primary goal is to deprive the ruling Civil  Contract Party of the opportunity to seize power in Vagharshapat.  Hovhannisyan noted that they are currently working under the  conditions of falsified elections, which must be acknowledged by all  participants in this process.

"The ruling party is desecrating the Hovhannavank Monastery today,  and following the same scenario, it is violating citizens' rights to  free elections. We strive to restore the rule of law in Armenia. It  is the right voters must exercise on November 16, during the  elections in Vagharshapat. This day will be a step towards a change  of power in Vagharshapat, and then towards national liberation from  the current regime," Hovhannisyan emphasized.

In turn, Heritage Party candidate for mayor of Vagharshapat, Arkady  Paytyan, emphasized that by achieving this goal, they will be able to  free the community from its internal enemy-the Civil Contract.  He  also noted that they are striving to return power to the community's  residents. "While we are on the path to absolute victory, if  necessary, we are ready to unite with other opposition forces to  prevent the Civil Contract from coming to power," Paytyan emphasized.

Regarding the party's election program, he noted that they will  primarily strive for the socio-economic development of the community,  which, in turn, will contribute to the resolution of the main issues   in Vagharshapat. "We also intend to strengthen ties between residents  of the city and villages and involve compatriots living abroad in the  community development process. We promise the community residents  that leadership will be transparent and not carried out solely by one  person, but exclusively hand in hand with the people," Paytyan  concluded.

Recall, the elections to the Council of Elders in the enlarged  Vagharshapat community are scheduled for November 16, 2025. According  to the Central Election Commission of Armenia, seven political forces  will participate in the elections.
