Armenia`s schools begin registration of first-formers

ArmInfo.  The registration process for first-graders to enroll in comprehensive schools in  Armenia will begin on June 9.

As reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Education,  Science, Culture and Sports, the registration process will be carried  out in three stages through the program "Electronic system for  registering students in school" (hayt.emis.am, haytru.emis.am), the  operator of which is the "National Center for Educational  Technologies" of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and  Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

At the first stage, from June 9 up to and including June 22,  registration will be open on the hayt.emis.am website for individuals  with certain privileges. Parents wishing to register for classes in  both Armenian and Russian can take advantage of the privileges.

Applications will be considered on a priority basis if the sister or  brother of the child undergoing registration studies in the same  comprehensive school, the parent of the child undergoing registration  is an employee of the school, the parent of the child undergoing  registration is an employee of the RA state system who has moved to  another place of residence for at least 6 months in connection with  the performance of his or her work duties. The above-mentioned period  does not apply if registration is carried out for families included  in the vulnerability assessment system, children under guardianship,  children with disabilities or children of parents with disabilities  living within the walking distance from the school to their home, as  established by the RA legislation. In this case, the parent applies  to the RA Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, presenting  the relevant grounds for admitting the child to the institution.  Registration of children of the specified group is carried out in  accordance with the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the Protection  of the Rights and Freedoms of Children".

The second stage, which will concern admission to schools on a  general basis, will begin on June 24.  Applications for first-graders  will be accepted on the hayt.emis.am website for the admission of all  first- graders of general education institutions with instruction in  Armenian (including foreign citizens, persons with dual citizenship,  stateless persons, when one of the parents is a representative of one  of the listed groups, and the other is a citizen of the Republic of  Armenia).

At the third stage, starting from July 1, applications will be  accepted on the haytru.emis.am website for classes with instruction  in Russian at the choice of parents. This stage is applied in cases  where one of the parents is a foreign citizen or a person with dual  citizenship or a stateless person, or one of the parents is a citizen  of the Republic of Armenia representing a national minority.

Registration ensures the admission of other children to the same  institution, regardless of the limitation of places provided by the  license. Registration will continue throughout the academic year.
