
ArmInfo. As part of the Days of Kazakhstan Culture in Armenia, the grand opening of a park named after Abai Kunanbayev took place in Yerevan. The naming ceremony of the park, located near Alma-Atinskaya Street in the Avan administrative district of Yerevan, took place with the participation of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESC) of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, and the Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva. A memorial plaque in honor of Abai Kunanbayev, a renowned Kazakh poet, representative of the educational movement, prominent figure in literature and philosophy and founder of Kazakh literature, was unveiled at the park during the event, the press service of the MESC reports.
The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology Artur Martirosyan, First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Armen Pambukhchyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia Bolat Imanbayev, representatives of the public from both countries, as well as residents and guests of the Armenian capital.
The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports welcomed those present at the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Armenia and emphasized that these days are a great opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan - literature, music, dance and traditions, while also fostering cultural dialogue between the two nations. The Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva also delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing that the naming ceremony of the park is a historic event. She expressed gratitude to all parties involved in making the project a reality, and emphasized: "May this significant event mark the start of a new stage of cooperation between the peoples of Armenia and Kazakhstan". The event also featured a tree planting ceremony with the participation of the two ministers, as well as musical and dance performances by Armenian and Kazakh youth.
