Armenia highlights development of cooperation with Kazakhstan 

ArmInfo.  A high level of  cooperation has been established between Armenia and Kazakhstan, particularly within the framework of inter-parliamentary cooperation:   Welcoming the members of the Kazakhstan-Armenia Friendship Group to  the National Assembly, the Head of the Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship  Group Vagharshak Hakobyan said.

"We particularly attach importance to the development of cooperation  between the Parliaments of our states, based on the provisions of the  Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan  signed on September 2, 1999," Vagharshak Hakobyan said, adding that  there is a necessity to develop a clear algorithm for the work of the  inter-parliamentary Friendship Group to cooperate on various  platforms.

The meeting was held on November 28, and was attended by members of  the Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group, the deputies of the RA NA  Civil Contract Faction Alkhas Ghazaryan, Hakob Aslanyan, Narek  Babayan, Davit Danielyan, Mikael Tumasyan, and Lilit Galstyan and  Irina Gasparyan from the RA NA Armenia Faction.

"We are interested in the further development of the integration  processes in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union and the  expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and  Kazakhstan," the Head of the Armenia-Kazakhstan Friendship Group  noted, emphasizing that the Armenian side is ready to develop close  partnership with Kazakhstan in all possible areas. He mentioned that  in recent years a fairly high indicator of trade turnover has been  recorded between the two countries, underscoring that both Armenia  and Kazakhstan have promising projects that can be mutually  beneficial.

The Head of the Kazakhstan-Armenia Friendship Group of the Majlis of  Kazakhstan Mukash Iskandirov informed that this is their first visit  to Armenia and emphasized that an active political dialogue has been  launched between the two countries at all levels, trade and economic  cooperation has deepened, as well as the cooperation in the cultural  and humanitarian spheres.

Speaking about the Armenian community living and working in  Kazakhstan, Vagharshak Hakobyan pointed out that the relations  between the two nations are based on mutual respect and ancient  traditions.

Within the framework of cultural, scientific and educational  cooperation, the Head of the Friendship Group touched upon the  publication of works by Kazakh authors in Armenian, the activities of  the Abay Kazakh Language, History and Culture Center at YSU (Yerevan  State University). He expressed confidence that the opening of the  Center for Armenian Culture, Language, Literature and History at the  National Academic Library of Kazakhstan will have a positive impact  on the cultural and humanitarian aspects of cooperation between the  two countries.

Iskandirov Mukash also stated that the Armenian community has its own  unique place and role in Kazakhstan.

The members of the Friendship Group once again emphasized the  important role of legislative bodies in the relations of the two  countries and expressed their willingness to actively cooperate.
