Welcoming ceremony for President of Poland held in Armenia`s capital 

ArmInfo. A solemn welcoming  ceremony was held at the residence of the President of Armenia for  the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, who arrived in Yerevan on an  official visit.

The presidents of the two countries, Vahagn Khachaturyan and Andrzej  Duda, were greeted by a guard of honor, and the national anthems of  Armenia and Poland were performed.

As part of the visit, a one-on-one meeting of the presidents will be  held today, after which the negotiations will continue in an expanded  format, after which the heads of state will meet with media  representatives. In the afternoon, Andrzej Duda will hold talks with  RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Parliament Speaker Alen  Simonyan.

The day before, the head of the Polish President's Bureau of  International Policy, Mesko Pawiak, told the media that one of the  main topics of the talks would be the situation in the region and the  peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. 

"The peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan is ongoing, and we  hope that it will be completed soon," Pawiak said, emphasizing that  two weeks ago Duda participated in the COP29 conference in Baku, met  with the President of Azerbaijan and also discussed the situation in  Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the peace process. 

"Now is the time to talk to the Armenian side," the official said,  without going into details of the conversations with the Azerbaijani  side. Noting that Poland will preside over the EU Council from  January, Pawiak stressed that EU enlargement is one of the priorities  of Poland's presidency. "Armenia does not seek EU membership, but in  recent years it has become much more open to cooperation with the  West and the EU, and Poland's presidency will strengthen this trend,"  he noted.
