No response to Armenia natural disaster from Anraka - expert 

ArmInfo. Political scientist Beniamin Matevosyan drew attention to the lack of reaction from Ankara to the natural disaster in Armenia.

The expert noted that when commenting on the natural disaster that  occurred in the Lori and Tavush regions, the Minister of Territorial  Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan rightly  replied that the amount of damage from the flood is enormous, and it  will take a lot of time and serious financial resources to eliminate  its consequences.

In this vein, Matevosyan drew attention to the fact that in 2023,  when an earthquake occurred in neighboring Turkey, which also caused  damage on a huge scale, the Armenian authorities not only expressed  condolences to the Turkish side, but also sent humanitarian aid to  Turkey through the bridge in Margara.

"In the case of the stylish disaster in Armenia, official Ankara is  silent, not to mention helping our country with anything. This fact  is the emergence of not only Turkey's deep-seated attitude towards  Armenia, but also a failure of the foreign policy course, since Nikol  Pashinyan failed build such a system of relations with Ankara so that  the reaction of the Erdogan government is mirrored by how the RA  government behaved in 2023," the political scientist expressed his  conviction.

In this vein, he noted that Iran has expressed its readiness to send  humanitarian aid and rescue teams to Armenia, Russia has repeatedly  expressed its readiness to help in the restoration of flood-affected  areas of Armenia (and has already managed to provide assistance),  France has declared its readiness to provide assistance to Armenia in  the liquidation consequences of a recent natural disaster. 

"Someday everything that is happening in Armenia will end, we will  turn over this dark page, but for centuries we will not be able to  wash away the shame, because we were the people who, knowing, seeing  that our brothers and sisters, that one part of our people in Artsakh  is starving, We provided humanitarian assistance not to them, but to  their executioners - the Turks.

When people were starving in Artsakh and people had problems with  medicines, it was we who sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine instead of  NKR, leaving our brothers and sisters, part of our people to be  devoured by our neighbors... We will not wash away this shame for  centuries," Matevosyan noted.

On May 26, a flood occurred in the north of Armenia caused by heavy  precipitation, heavy rain and the Debed River overflowing its banks,  which led to significant destruction of infrastructure and the death  of at least 4 people. The storm damaged roads, bridges and railway  lines. Thanks to the efforts of rescuers, 443 citizens were  evacuated. In order to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, an  operational group was formed under the leadership of the Minister of  Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of  Armenia Gnel Sanosyan.

A number of countries, including Russia, Iran. France, Greece and  others have expressed their readiness to assist Armenia in overcoming  the consequences of the disaster, however, the Armenian authorities  remain silent on this matter. On May 30, with a message from the  Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia about a meeting of the  republican commission to assess the damage caused to individuals and  legal entities as a result of emergency situations in the Lori and  Tavush regions, it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs  sent requests to activate the civil defense mechanism of the European  Union and receive support from the UN office in order to  strengthening expert capabilities to more accurately assess and  eliminate the consequences of a disaster.
