German low-cost airline Eurowings will launch direct flights from  Cologne / Bonn airport to Yerevan from August 6

ArmInfo.From 6 August, Eurowings will be offering non-stop flights to Armenia: The airline is launching a new direct connection and will fly its passengers from  Cologne/Bonn to the Armenian capital Yerevan for the first time.  Every Friday, an Airbus A320 takes off for Armenia at 2.20 pm,  arriving at 8.40 pm.

The return flight departs on the same day at  9.30 p.m. and lands at Cologne/Bonn Airport at 00.20 am the next day.  All flight times are local times, the joint statement of Armenia -  International Airports CJSC and Lufthansa reads.  Marcelo Wende,   Director of "Armenia" International Airports" CJSC, said: "We are  happy that Eurowings is entering the Armenian market. We congratulate  the airline and wish them successful operation and safe flights. From  now on, opportunities to travel directly to Europe will increase."

Most recently, flights to Tbilisi in  Georgia and to Ekaterinburg and Krasnodar in Russia were added to the  program in July.

Deutsche Lufthansa AG (FWB: LHA), better known as Lufthansa is the  flagship carrier of Germany, Europe's largest aviation concern, which  also includes such major airlines as Swiss International Airlines and  Austrian Airlines. Thus, Austrian Airlines has been operating flights  from Vienna to Yerevan for the past 20 years, Brussels Airlines  offers 5 flights a week from Brussels to Yerevan. Lufthansa is also a  co-founder of the world's oldest and largest aviation alliance, Star  Alliance, established in 1997.  On July 15, it was reported that  Lufthansa, as a result of lengthy negotiations, made a decision on  August 13 of this year to enter the Armenian market - to carry out  flights in the direction of Frankfurt-Yerevan-Frankfurt 3 times a  week. In particular, flights from Frankfurt to Yerevan will be  available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and from Yerevan to  Frankfurt on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
