Shushi or Shusha? Missaying or intentional statement of MP Anush  Begloyan

ArmInfo.Shusha is an ancient Armenian city that came under the control of Azerbaijan during the hostilities. Anush Begloyan, a deputy from the "My Step" bloc, said  this in an interview with journalists, calling Shushi the Azrbaydjan  name of Shusha.

Begloyan noted that the statements she made during the online  conference of the Border Zone project were distorted by the  opposition media.

Begloyan stated that in her interview she noted the need for the  soonest return of the Armenian prisoners to their homeland, and that  the status of Artsakh should be discussed, but in the format of the  OSCE Minsk Group, and not at seminars. And this issue should be  discussed by heads of state and foreign ministers. "I noted that all  questions and conversations about who owned this land are  inappropriate in the context of the fact that no one can prove it  better than the Armenians," the MP said. She stated that the  Azerbaijani press and some Armenian media have greatly distorted the  essence of her words. She assured that she noted that for 30 years  the Azerbaijani authorities tried to assure their people that this  was their land, and this led to the war. "I noted that we learn from  ancient Armenian sources that Artsakh is an Armenian land, not an  Azerbaijani one. That is, our historical sources prove that this is  an Armenian land, "Begloyan emphasized.  "We must protect the rights  of the citizens of Artsakh and not allow Armenians to be evicted from  this territory. The issue concerning the status of Artsakh will still  be discussed. It is early to give in to despair and give up, this  issue will be resolved>, - the deputy stressed. Begloyan also stated  that she clearly believes that we must return the territories lost  during the war. She added that today the international pressure on  Azerbaijan to return the prisoners is strong enough, I would even  say, has no precedents in history.

When asked whether it is possible to coexist with Azerbaijan under  these conditions, when Aliyev declares Yerevan, Sevan and Syunik  their territories, Begloyan replied: "As long as Azerbaijan continues  its anti- Armenian policy, as long as it keeps our captives at home,  while Azerbaijan is trying to conduct a destructive politics in the  region - military exercises, hostile statements, this process cannot  begin>.  When asked why Nikol Pashinyan signed a document on  unblocking roads on January 11, Begloyan noted:  "The issue of  unblocking the infrastructure is still being discussed, there is no  binding international document or international agreement. It's about  discussing the possibilities>.
