Zourabichvili : Georgia is and should be in the future completely  neutral towards Armenia and Azerbaijan

"It is important that we maintain the most important thing for the region - Georgia is and should be in the future completely neutral towards its two  neighbors and friends,"  President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili  stated this in a half-hour interview to the Rustavi-2 TV channel  about the armed confrontation between Azerbaijan and Armenia in  Nagorno-Karabakh and Tbilisi's position in this process.

Zourabichvili  stressed Georgia's neutrality in the armed conflict  between Armenia and Azerbaijan.  "The economies of all of our three  countries or development are envious of this peace and stability,"  she said.

According to President Zourabichvili , telephone conversations with  the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia are scheduled this week.  According to her, the main message of Tbilisi for Baku and Yerevan  will continue to be the offer of a platform for dialogue in Tbilisi  and a ceasefire "to end human casualties."

At the same time, according to the President of Georgia""Today, both  sides  are developing the preconditions that they are ready to use  the OSCE Minsk Group. I think we should promote this and see when the  Minsk Group can meet, at least in Georgia. We will do our best and  are ready for whatever they want".

According to the President, she will reaffirm to the leaders of  neighboring countries that "we will do everything, and we are ready  for whatever is acceptable to them, in order to achieve, first of  all, de-escalation, ceasefire and peace negotiations."

Speaking about the potential risks for Georgia from the ongoing  conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, President Zurabishvili stressed the  possible violation of the country's transit function and the  stability necessary for this.

" Our region is important in terms of energy. Our future potential is  associated with the development of transit, transport,  communications, Black Sea development. This is the biggest risk that  we could lose our main trump card - stability. We have often said  that we are an island stability and democracy in the region, it must  be restored, "the Georgian president said, Civil Georgia reports.

According to her: "It will be not only in our interests, because our  transit benefits the economy of Azerbaijan and the economy of  Armenia, both countries depend on it, just as we depend.
