Forecast: There are no criminal cases to investigate April War 2016,  and there will not be any under current authority

ArmInfo.Initial limitation of the tasks and goals of the April War Investigation Committee will not allow it to reveal the real facts and the culprits of what had  happened.  One of the leaders of All-Armenian "Sasna Tsrer" party,  hero of the Artsakh war Jirayr Sefilian expressed a similar opinion  to ArmInfo.

"The Committee investigates exclusively the military component of the  April war. Questions are being asked about intelligence, the enemy's  concentration of forces, the decisions taken in this regard, their  relevance to the real situation and the degree of effectiveness of  implementation. The issue of the availability of weapons and combat  support is being investigated. Meanwhile, betrayal, criminal inaction  of military political leadership with the goal of surrendering  territories to Azerbaijan with the subsequent deployment of the  Russian military took place in the geopolitical and political terms,  " he stressed.

In this light, Sefilyan believes that the Committee's such an  approach to the investigation initially dooms it to failure and the  main culprits to leave the investigation and, accordingly,  punishment. For this reason, Sasna Tsrer considers the committee as a  means of covering up the names of the real culprits. According to his  estimates, the latter are Serzh Sargsyan and his closest associates  with whom he made and implemented strategic decisions.

Sefilian emphasized that the recent joint activities of Sargsyan,  other April criminals and the Committee clearly demonstrates their  mutual interest and complementarity. Sargsyan and his entourage in  this work seek to blur their own responsibility for the human and  territorial losses of April.

The current government, in his estimation, in turn seeks to preserve  the existing semi-colonial, Kremlin- dependent, political system.  Thus, keeping political life in Armenia within the framework of the  struggle between the "former" and the present, both of them solve a  common problem - they restrain political ambitions and the future of  healthy and new forces.

"In this light, even if we are presented the final report of the  Committee, it would be very much like a table toast. Although, quite  possibly, there will be a secret part of the report, as it was when  summing up the work of the Supreme Council commission to study the  causes of Shahumyan seizure in 1992. There are no criminal cases  initiated for the purpose of investigating April 2016, and there will  not be any under this authority, "the politician concluded.
