Levon Mnatsakanyan: Artsakh defense army completed the tasks assigned  to it in April 2016

On April 27, in Yerevan, in an interview with reporters after  participating in the work of the "April Commission," Artsakh police  chief Levon Mnatsakanyan, who holds the post of head of the Defense  Army during the fighting in April 2016, said.

At the same time, he added that all the answers were immediate and  sincere, that reality was presented that was April events time. To  clarify to journalists whether there were such omissions during the  April actions that could have affected the course of the war,  Mnatsakanyan in particular replied: "Of course not. Definitely, the  Artsakh Defense Army completed the tasks assigned to it. It won."

According to Mnatsakanyan, shortcomings are everywhere, the more work  is done, the more shortcomings are nowhere to go.

At the same time, he did not answer the question of insufficient  information on the operational intelligence line in those days,  noting that the commission should decide whether to disclose  information or not.  The acting head of the Artsakh police also  denied information about the death of 100 military personnel during  the April four day. Mnatsakanyan emphasized that from April 2 to  April 5, the Armenian side did not have more than 100 victims - there  were 75 dead, 35 of whom were military servicemen.  He also  negatively answered the question of a possible internal conspiracy.

To clarify how much the Armenian side lost territories during the  April war, because the numbers are constantly different, Mnatsakanyan  said that they estimated up to 400 hectares (in 2016, the figure was  up to 800 hectares).

Recall that the parliamentary commission to investigate the  circumstances of the April war in Karabakh was created in 2019. The  Commission included representatives of all factions of the National  Assembly. Its goal is to identify possible errors, shortcomings or  inaction on the part of the then authorities during the  aforementioned period of aggravation of the situation on the border,  which led to the death of more than 100 Armenian military personnel.  The commission was visited by the third President of Armenia Serzh  Sargsyan, ex-Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, head of the General  Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Artak Davtyan. Meanwhile, Yuri  Khachaturov, who was then head of the General Staff of the RA Armed  Forces, refused to participate in the commission.
