Kiro Manoyan: Soon, US representatives will begin to put pressure on  Armenia on the Artsakh issue

ArmInfo. Soon, representatives of the United States will begin to put pressure on Armenia on the Artsakh issue. This was announced on December 24 at a press  conference by the head of the "Hay Dat" central office and on  political issues of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Kiro Manoyan.

He noted that after internal political developments in Armenia,  Azerbaijan had the opportunity to introduce some changes in the  negotiation process on the Karabakh issue. "After the meeting of  Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with Azerbaijani President  Ilham Aliyev, the situation on the Line of Contact became calmer,  however, as a result of these agreements, Armenia has ceased to raise  the issue of Azerbaijan's implementation of the Vienna and St.  Petersburg agreements, "Manoyan stressed The latter said that control  over the preservation of the cease-fire regime should be strengthened  by installing equipment and expanding the office of the personal  representative of the current OSCE head.

According to Manoyan, nothing prevents Baku from starting more often  to violate the cease-fire regime in the near future, and to try to  take steps similar to the April 2016 events.

Kiro Manoyan also stated that it is possible, in the near future, in  connection with the Karabakh issue, the United States will begin to  put pressure on Armenia. "The fact is that regardless of whether  Yerevan will succumb to pressure or not, this issue is activated and  is on the agenda. This issue needs to be resolved with the  implementation of the Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements, without  implementing these agreements; the issue's resolution is dangerous  for Armenia, "Manoyan stressed.

With regard to statements the Acting Prime Minister that Artsakh  should also take part in the negotiations, Manoyan noted that the  participation of the NKR is very important, however, difficult to do.  "In order to introduce the delegation from Artsakh into the  negotiation process, it is necessary to ensure that Azerbaijan does  not protest against this decision. The main thing is not to allow the  situation that the NKR will replace Armenia in the negotiation  process," he said.

The politician stressed that in order to introduce Karabakh into this  process, it is necessary to put pressure on Azerbaijan. "The only way  to really put pressure on Azerbaijan is to conclude a  military-political agreement on cooperation between Armenia and  Artsakh. In addition, this will be one of the steps that will show  that Armenia recognizes the independence of the NKR. Thus, we will  let Baku understand that if they protest against the Artsakh side at  the negotiating table, we can take steps that do not require the  consent of Azerbaijan. In addition, the signing of such a treaty will  form prerequisites for the international party the society also soon  recognized the independence of Artsakh," Manoyan said He also noted  that besides the Artsakh issue, there is also tension between Armenia  and Azerbaijan.
