MFA commented on statement of Azerbaijani FM on agreements reached in  Milan

ArmInfo. The Armenian Foreign Ministry commented on the statement of the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister regarding the fact that during the last meeting in  Milan, for the first time in a long time, he reached an understanding with Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anna Naghdalyan stated that the  agreements reached during the meeting between the foreign ministers  of Armenia and Azerbaijan within the framework of the OSCE  ministerial meeting were already published by the RA Foreign  Ministry: "Zorab Mnatsakyan and Elmar Mamedyarov agreed to continue  the meeting, keeping formed dynamics. "

"Another agreement was reached in connection with the joint statement  of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the  heads of the delegations of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries.  For quite a long time, it was not possible to achieve statements in a  similar format, but in Milan, it was possible to reach agreement on  the text of statment", Naghdalian said.

She also noted that in his speech at the OSCE Ministerial Council  meeting on December 6, which was also published by the Armenian  Foreign Ministry, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, referring to this statement,  called it "encouraging", stressing that the ministers of the two  countries had reached agreement around the text of the statement.

"On December 6, Mnatsakanyan also added that this statement is  evidence of the mutual understanding reached in Dushanbe between the  heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan towards reducing tensions in the  Karabakh conflict zone and preparing peoples for peace. In the case  of such complex issues, preservation of non-confrontational,  non-hostile tone in statements is already positive, "concluded  Naghdalian.  To note, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov  said that at the last meeting in Milan, for the first time in a long  time, he managed to reach some kind of understanding with the  Armenian Foreign Minister. He also noted that the main task for  Azerbaijan is to find ways to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.  The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Office also noted that next month  they will meet with the Armenian Foreign Minister. "We will discuss  ways to resolve the conflict. Azerbaijan is for a peaceful resolution  of the conflict," the minister said.
