``Show-trial`` against Armenian citizen Karen Ghazaryan continues in Azerbaijan

ArmInfo. The show-trial  against the citizen of Armenia Karen Ghazaryan, who was captured in  Azerbaijan, continues.

Thus, the Ganja Serious Crimes Court, chaired by Judge Keramet  Aliyev, continues the ''Show-trial'' of Ghazarian, who is represented  in Azerbaijan as a "saboteur".

Ghazaryan is charged under articlesfull: 29,120.2.12 (attempted murder on  a national basis), 29,120.2.7 (attempted murder of two or more  persons), 120.2.11 (attempted murder in connection with robbery,  extortion and terrorism), 29,120.2.5 (attempted murder for personal  gain or by request), 29,120.2.1 (attempted murder committed by a  group of individuals), 206.3.2 (smuggling committed by a group of  individuals), 214.2.1 (terrorism committed by a group of  individuals), 214-3.1 (teaching for terrorism), 214.2.3 (terrorism  with firearms), 29,282.1 (attempted provocation), 228.1 (illegal  carrying of firearms), 276 (espionage) and 318.2 (illegal crossing of  the state border of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.   To recall, on July 15, Karen Ghazaryan entered the territory of  Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side announced about "preventing attempts  of sabotage penetration", as well as the capture of a soldier Karen  Ghazaryan (born in 1984). Spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry  Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that Karen Ghazaryan does not serve and has  never served in the army. However, this did not prevent Azerbaijan  from declaring Ghazaryan a "saboteur" and starting a trial.

The trial against Ghazaryan caused indignation of Ghazaryan's  relatives. In this regard, on November 17- 18, Ghazaryan's relatives,  as well as his fellow villagers blocked the road, demanding that the  authorities return Karen Ghazaryan from Azerbaijani captivity.

Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, referring to this  issue during today's meeting with journalists, stated that he is  ready to meet with relatives of Berdavan Karen Ghazaryan, who is in  Azerbaijan's captivity. He said that he received an appeal from the  relatives of Ghazaryan with a request for a meeting and ordered it to  be organized. "My wife visited the family twice. The question never  went unnoticed. But the action held the other day raises questions,  against whom is it directed? If it against the Azerbaijani  authorities, then why did it take to block the road, the closure of  which is one of the strategic goals of Azerbaijan? Because they think  that not enough attention was paid to the problem, why did the prime  minister's wife visit the family twice, and was there a precedent  when the family in such a situation gets such attention?  Should  increase efforts, then you need to understand whether the process  should meet the interests of Armenia, or you can demand a solution to  the issue at any cost, and still, how will society react and what  will be the assessment? That's a tricky one, "Pashinyan said,  recalling that in Azerbaijan Another Armenian citizen Zaven  Karapetyan is located (the official report about the capture is dated  July 2017). "Why are they not blocking the roads because of him?  Because is he an orphan? We follow this logic?" Pashinyan asked.  

Acting Prime Minister said that the Azerbaijani side proposes to  change "all for all". ''Should we go for it?  And we asked the  families of those killed. During the terrorist infiltration of Hasan  Hasanov, Dilham Askerov (sentenced to life by the NKR court) and  Shahbaz Guliyev (sentenced to 20 years in prison by the NKR court)  two people were killed, including an 18-year-old boy. That is, to  return to Azerbaijan two of Ramil Safarov? I understand and respect  the tragedy of the Ghazarian family. But I am saying directly - it is  incomprehensible to me to block the road to Georgia. That is, is  there something that we could have done and not done? This is a  misunderstanding of the situation. The prime minister and the  government are obliged to think equally about both,",Pashinyan  stressed.
