Diana Grigoryan, wanted by US law enforcement officers on suspicion  of visa fraud and fraud, voluntarily came to the Armenian Police

As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the RA police, Diana  Grigoryan was wanted by Interpol since February 2. She is accused of  371, 3551, 1546, 1956 articlesfull 18 of the head of the US Criminal  Code. The search was conducted by Interpol "With a red corner".

Recall that at the beginning of this year, the US Department of  Justice reported on the presentation of 47- year-old US citizen  Stella Boyadjian and two Armenian citizens 30-year-old Hrachya Atoyan  and 41-year- old Diana Grigoryan (Akopova) charged with granting fake  visas. They were also charged with visa fraud, fraud and the  transportation of citizens in the United States by illegal means, as  well as identity theft and money laundering.

In connection with this high-profile case, the statement also  circulated the US Embassy in Armenia, which, inter alia, said: "The  joint investigative activities of the US Department of Justice and  the Department of Diplomatic Security Services of the State  Department are a clear message that visa abuse in the United States  is a task national security and cannot be ignored. She  demanded from the citizens of Armenia from three to 15 thousand US  dollars for issuing fake certificates. According to the scheme, visa  applicants were dressed in national costumes, fake concert posters  were printed in order to deceive the government program allowing the  temporary entry of foreign citizens into the United States as  artists. Unfortunately, such cases force us to subject everyone who  claims to participate in the Armenian-American cultural exchange to a  detailed study. Our efforts to combat visa fraud continue. Our  consular officials will study visa applications with full support of  the migration law and the US charter, striving on the one hand to  facilitate legal travel, and on the other to protect the national  security of the United States. At the same time, the US Department of  Justice and the Diplomatic Security Service will do everything to  bring to justice those who speculate with the United States visa  system in order to obtain benefits. "

The US Embassy in Armenia also stressed that it would do everything  possible to assist in bringing it to justice.
