Nicolas Aznavour on presentation of Charles Aznavour Center: I feel  deep sadness that he is not here today

ArmInfo.Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and French President Emmanuel Macron visited the Charles Aznavour Center. They were met by Nicolas Aznavour, the son of the world famous chansonnier Charles Aznavour, who gave a brief  speech at a presentation dedicated to the Aznavour Center - the last  grand project of the great chansonnier.

 According to Nicolas,  Charles Aznavour really wanted to be present at the presentation of  the project, on which they had worked together for two years. "I feel  deep sadness that he is not here today. At the same time, I feel deep  gratitude because the center will perpetuate the memory of my  father," Nicolas Aznavour said.  As the website of the Foundation  informs, the Center will house technological and interactive museum  of the legendary artist, and a cultural and educational center for  youth. Recently Nicola Aznavour in an interview to Le Journal du  Dimanche told about the last initiative of the legendary chanconnier,  in particualr ''Aznavour'' center, which will be established in  Armenia. "This idea came to my father many years ago, and we thought  about it together. His desire was to share with people the most  precious things for him: French, music and cinema. Let me quote the  President of France Emmanuel Macron:" French culture will shine in  Armenia in the center of "Aznavour", - he said. The son of  the  chansonnier noted that part of the center will be devoted to the  works of Aznavour, but it will be presented more interactively than  in a regular museum. "Visitors to the center will be greeted by the  voice of the father, who will introduce them to the most important  stages of his life, from the emigration of his parents to his victory  on the stage.  The center will also be a territory of educational and  cultural exchange. In particular, we will offer a method of learning  French based on the texts of my father's songs, " Nicolas said. He  said that the concept of the center will be fully presented on  October 11 as part of the 17th Francophonie Summit. Also, Nicolas  expressed hope that he would be able to settle in Armenia in order to  devote himself to the projects that his father implemented in his  homeland.

French singer, composer, writer and actor of Armenian descent Charles  Aznavour died on the night of October 1 in France at the age of 94.  He was the Ambassador of Armenia to Switzerland and the  representative of the republic to UNESCO.
