``Free Democrats ``Party confirms its unconditional support to  citizens of Armenia and Prime Minister

ArmInfo. The Free Democrats  Party confirms its unconditional support for the position of the  citizens of Armenia and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This is  stated in the official statement of the party.

"Extraordinary elections to the National Assembly are the imperative  of the day and the fair demand of the majority of our society,  holding which in accordance with democratic principles will guarantee  an irreversible process of development and changes in Armenia," the  source noted. 

The hastily adopted draft law on amending the NA Rules of Procedure,  according to the Party, formed a new abyss in Armenia between  supporters of the revolution and the National Assembly.

"Obviously, this initiative attempts to cancel the adoption of the  law and the preparation of processes that are necessary for holding  early parliamentary elections in compliance with all democratic  principles, including crucial changes in the Electoral Code, which is  fully adapted to the old system", the statement of ''Free Democrats''  reads.

Those who will impede the holding of extraordinary parliamentary  elections, according to the Party, contribute to the division of  society and the weakening of the country at a responsible and  important historical moment for Armenia and Artsakh.

"Taking into account the external and internal challenges faced by  Armenia, holding extraordinary parliamentary elections has become the  imperative of the day, which in this situation will become the most  necessary and effective solution in terms of ensuring political and  social unanimity in the country," the statement said.  To recall late  last night, at a special meeting, the RA Parliament adopted  amendments to the law "On the National Assembly Rules of Procedure"  by 67 votes, which would allow deputies to insure themselves against  a possible dissolution of the parliament.  The bill was voted for by  the faction of the Republican Party of Armenia, the Tsarukyan bloc  and the ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Yelk faction was against. Then, at  the call of Pashinyan, the citizens gathered at the National Assembly  building to oppose the adoption of the controversial amendments to  the law on the NA Rules of Procedure by the Parliament. According to  the document, in case of obstruction of the work of the NA sitting,  for any reason, it can be considered not to be failed, but to be  interrupted and can be continued later. During an emergency rally on  Baghramyan Avenue, the representatives of the Prosperous Armenia  (PAP) and ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) parties in the government,  including the governors, were dismissed. The Prime Minister also  called on President Armen Sarkissian not to sign the bill. ''The law  may come into force within 21 days. The President of Armenia must  sign this law or appeal to the Constitutional Court to appeal its  constitutionality. I think you give me the authority to appeal to  Armenian President Armen Sarkissian from here and urge him not to  sign this law, "Pashinyan said at a rally in front of the parliament  building.
