Nikol Pashinyan listened to the problems of Artsvashent: he urged  refugees to clearly articulate their expectations from the government

ArmInfo. On October 2, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received refugees from Artsvashen village, who now live in Gegharkunik region of Armenia.

Residents Artsvashen as a result of hostilities on August 8, 1992  were forcibly evicted from their native Artsvashen and settled in  other settlements, most of them live in Chambarak.

As the press service of the government reports, the IDPs informed the  Prime Minister that starting from 1992, in order to improve their  living conditions, they were compensated three times - twice 50  million drams and once - in the amount of 708 million drams. In  general, as they noted, the government's decrees of previous years  provided for a compensation of AMD 1 million to each family, some of  which have already been paid. For today, refugees want to discuss  with the new government the amount of further financial assistance.

The head of government, after listening to complaints of  Artsvashentsev, said that the Cabinet would study ways of solving the  problem. At the same time, he called on refugees to clearly  articulate their expectations from the government, then to submit a  unified position on both the amount of compensation and the schedule  of payments. In addition, Pashyan instructed those responsible for  the sphere to raise all materials related to financial assistance to  the Artsvasians in the 20-day period starting from 1992, in detail to  whom and how much was paid. According to him, after analyzing,  comparing and verifying this information, already at the next meeting  the cabinet will be ready to discuss further steps.

Earlier, on September 20, about 500 residents of the Artsvashen  village held a protest action in front of the government building  demanding that they allocate funds for the restoration of the housing  stock of the settlement, which, according to them, is in a deplorable  state. On the same day, Pashinyan went out to the protesters and  agreed to meet on October 2. "We lost our homeland, lost five  thousand hectares of land, in 2009 the government decided to  compensate for the damage, promised to allocate six billion drams  (about $ 12.4 million) .In 2011, only 10% - 360 thousand drams (about  $ 700) per capita, and people have such losses, "one of the  participants in the protest said. The protesters carrying out the  protest action note that they are considered to be internal migrants  and, unlike the Armenians of Sumgait and Baku, they do not have  refugee status. "So far we have no status, we have housing problems.  We lost our home, lost everything, but have not received any  compensation so far, "said one of the Artsvashentsev. It should be  recalled that on August 8, 1992 Artsvashen, blocked by Azerbaijani  Armed Forces after resolute battles, was decided to leave. As a  refuge for arzvashentsev, the city of Chambarak (ex-Molokansky  Krasnoselsk), where once in the log houses there lived Molokans and  nearby villages. Today, most Artsvashenians have housing problems -  their houses are rotting and collapsing.
