In connection with the holding of elections to the Council of Elders  of Yerevan, the working group established by the order of the  chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia

ArmInfo. In connection with the conduct of the elections to the Council of Elders of  Yerevan, the order of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of  Armenia Hayk Grigorian established a working group, whose task will  be to react promptly to all incoming cases of violations.

According to the press service of the SC of the Republic of Armenia,  according to the order, all structural units of the committee were  instructed to take prompt actions on arriving during the election and  after them reports of violations, to hold discussions on possible  electoral crimes with the participation of retrained investigators as  soon as possible. All the cases to be brought immediately to the head  of the working group.  On September 23, to move to a strengthened  mode of operation involving 100% of all employees of the UK, at the  same time create conditions for the employees of the committee to  fulfill their civic duty. The working group will be coordinated by  Arthur Melikyan, Head of the Main Department for Control over  Regional Investigation Departments of the Armenian Arbitration Court.

Extraordinary elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan started  on September 23 in the capital of Armenia. The need for early  elections arose after the former mayor of the city, Taron Margaryan,  resigned.  After the Council of Elders could not elect a new mayor,  the government terminated the powers of the members of the Council.  For the conduct of elections from 08.00 all 475 polling stations were  opened.  Voting will last until 20.00. There are four blocs and eight  parties in the elections. According to the results of the vote, the  first number of the list of political force, which received more than  50% of the vote, automatically becomes the mayor of the capital of  Armenia. If none of the political forces has won more than 50% of the  votes, all factions included in the Council of Elders have the right  to nominate their candidate, who must be elected by a majority vote  of the members of the Council, consisting of 65 members. The party's  candidate is Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovhannisyan. The "Luys"  bloc with the Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan, the "My step" with  the actor Hayk Marutyan, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party "presented the  candidate Mikael Manukyan, the" Reformists "party with the director  Artak Avetisyan.  on the post of mayor of the architect Anahit  Tarkhanyan.Gevork Sandalyan became the "leader" of the  Democratic-Liberal Union of Armenia, headed by Zaruhi Postanjyan,  headed by Manuel Gasparyan, the party "Ori" Mher Shahgeldyan,  "Yerevanians" - MP Ararat Zohrabyan, and "Prosperous Armenia" party -  MP Naira Zohrabyan
