Russian President Vladimir Putin and former Armenian leader Robert Kocharyan have maintained good relations for many years, which are not affected by the current events in Armenia, Spokesperson of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told journalists, commenting on the telephone conversation between Putin and Kocharyan.
"You know that over the years, Putin and Kocharyan have maintained good relations that are not affected by any events that are taking place in Armenia," Peskov said, Tass reports.
Answering the question, whether the Russian leader discussed with Kocharyan the topic of the criminal prosecution of the former Armenian president, the Spokesman answered: "No".
Earlier, the Kremlin reported that Putin congratulated Kocharyan, who turned 64 today, on his birthday by phone.
