Head of NSS is ready to head Armenian Football Federation, if  Football community wants him to

ArmInfo. The Head of National Security Service of Armenia is ready to discuss his appointment as the president of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA). At the  same time he will yield the seat to famous French football player  with Armenian roots, world champion Youri  Djorkaeff, if he expresses  a  wish to head the Federation, Director of the National Security  Service Artur Vanetsyan stated on July 19.

According to him, for today he did not make a final decision in  connection with the possible appointment.  "I will not hide that I  have a desire to head the FFA, and I think on this issue, but I am  ready to put my candidacy only if the representatives of the football  community assure me that they will not be against this decision," he  explained.

As Vanetsyan noted, he is a great fan of football. At the latest  World Cup in Russia, the head of the NSS was cheering up for the  football team of France, which became the owner of the World Cup. And  no matter what decision he makes, the head of the National Security  Service called on all the teams to take part in the games of  Armenia's top league. At this stage, according to Vanetsyan, the  status of the FFA is being clarified, which will be transformed into  a public association. The organizing committee of the Federation will  also be changed. As a result, most likely the FFA head elections will  be held on September 10-15. As for the inspections in the FFA and the  business of the current head of the Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan,  according to Vanetsyan, there were no checks, but since the Service  works in all directions, if there is reliable operative information,  the NSS will deal with this issue.

To note, recently Ruben Hayrapetyan stated that he is not going to  resign, but he is ready to yield the seat of the FFA head if Artur  Vanetsyan puts his candidacy.
