Nikol Pashinyan and Raimonds Vejonis discussed issues related to  further development and deepening of the Armenian-Latvian relations

ArmInfo.At the NATO Headquarters   in Brussels on July 12, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met  with Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis. At the meeting, the parties  discussed issues related to the further development and deepening of  the Armenian-Latvian relations.

As the press service of the Cabinet reports, the interlocutors also  touched upon the prospects for expanding cooperation in the economic  sphere of the two countries.

Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that the democratic changes taking  place in Armenia will contribute to the establishment of peace and  stability in the region. He stressed that Armenia remains committed  to the negotiation process for the peaceful settlement of the  Karabakh conflict under the aegis of the OSCE Minsk Group.

Raimonds Vejonis has declared, that in Latvia watched internal  political processes in Armenia and have highly estimated their  peaceful and democratic character.

As the head of the Armenian government pointed out, the steps taken  by the current Cabinet are aimed at strengthening the foundations of  democracy, promoting the interests of human and civil rights and  freedoms, and establishing an independent judiciary. According to  him, the government intends to hold free, fair and transparent  elections. The interlocutors attached importance to strengthening the  cooperation of the RA-EU, in particular in the context of the  agreement between Armenia and the European Union.  Pashinyan thanked  the Latvian side for ratifying this agreement among the first.
