Sharmazanov in Poland: Artsakh people`s struggle for independence and  freedom is doomed to a victorious success

ArmInfo. Deputy Speaker of the  National Assembly of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov and his Polish  counterpart Michal Severynsky discussed issues of Armenian-Polish  cooperation in Warsaw on July 11.

The sides stressed that cooperation in the parliamentary format plays  a special role in enriching the bilateral agenda and maximizing the  deepening of friendly ties. Sharmazanov expressed gratitude to the  Senate and Sejm of Poland for the adoption of special resolutions to  the 650th anniversary of the Armenian community of Poland in 2017.  The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly noted that Armenians  lived and worked in Poland for centuries, were involved in all  sectors of social and political life, making an important  contribution to the development of the country.

Touching upon the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership  Agreement, the NA Deputy Speaker stressed the importance of ratifying  the document by the Senate and the Sejm of Poland. He stated that the  future of Armenia depends on the development of democratic values.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon regional challenges. In  this context, Sharmazanov expressed concern over the destructive  policies and military rhetoric of Azerbaijan. The Deputy Speaker of  the National Assembly stressed that Armenia is a supporter of the NK  conflict settlement exclusively through peaceful negotiations, in the  format of the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group, on the basis  of three well-known principles.

"Artsakh people's  struggle for independence and freedom is doomed to  a victorious success," the NA Deputy Speaker said. Turning to the  international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, E. Sharmazanov  expressed the opinion that, unlike Poland, which recognized the  crime, Turkey continues the policy of denial, which is a threat to  the security of the region. The meeting was attended by Ambassador  Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to  Poland Edgar Ghazaryan.
