ArmInfo. The Democratic Party of Armenia makes its proposals on the reform of the Electoral Code. This is stated in the party's statement.
The statement of the party reads: "Since the non-parliamentary forces have not yet participated in discussions of the amendments to the Electoral Code, the Democratic Party of Armenia considers it reasonable to publish some of its proposals. First, the rating system should be replaced by proportional system. In addition, it is necessary to introduce an institution for collecting signatures in the amount of 10,000-15,000 instead of the pre-election pledge institution. Thirdly, the rights of authorized representatives and observers should be equated with the rights of the members of the commission. Fourth, the election commissions should be formed exclusively by the current authorities and should be a specialized body. Fifth, the distribution of pre-election bribes must be punished by the Criminal Code, as a grave crime. And finally, the threshold of passage to parliament under a proportional system should be 3% for parties and 5% for alliances. "
