New criminal case on concealing property and unlawfull enrichement  instituted against Serzh Sargsyan`s borther-Levon Sargsyan and his  family

ArmInfo.During the search conducted in the residence of the shareholder of "GLG Project Company" LLC Narek Sargsyan, deposit contracts worth about 6 million 800 thousand dollars were found.

As the press service of the State Revenue Committee told ArmInfo,  deposit contracts were titled in Narek Sargsyan's father name - Levon  Azatovich Sargsyan (brother of the third president of Armenia Serzh  Sargsyan) and his sister Ani Sargsyan.

It was decided to initiate a new criminal case on concealment of  property and illegal enrichment.  The department recalls that within  the framework of the criminal case initiated by the investigative  department of the Committee against GLG Project Company LLC on the  grounds of Art. 193 part 2 and art.  205 Part 2 of the RA Criminal  Code, 800 million drams were returned to the state budget.  "During  the preliminary investigation it was found out that Levon Sargsyan   being ambassador at large in 2017 was the person who was supposed to  declare income. However, Levon and Ani Sargsyan, when presenting  declarations of income and property to the State Ethics Committee,  did not specify the amount of deposits, thus hiding undeclared  amounts in especially large amounts .In addition, during the reported  period their property significantly increased compared to the amount  of legitimate income and this fact was not reasonably justified in  the declaration, that is, unlawful enrichment is registered.  Moreover, Narek Sargsyan, as an official, was also required to file a  declaration of income, which he did not do, and in 2017 his property  increased significantly compared to the legal income, which indicates  that the latter was illegally enriched, " the report of the Committee  states.

At the same time, it is stressed that, based on the materials of the  criminal case being investigated by the State Revenue Committee, it  was decided to initiate a new criminal case on the grounds of Article  314.3 part 2 and Article 310.1 part 1 of the Criminal Code. The  investigation is under way.
