Yerevan reacted to the sale of weapons to Azerbaijan by Minsk

For Armenia, it is very unfortunate that Belarus, being a friendly country and participating together with the RA in a number of international formats, within the  framework of which it has various partner commitments, sells weapons  to a country that is in conflict with us. This was stated in the  interview with Radio Liberty by the new Deputy Foreign Minister of  Armenia Ruben Rubinyan, referring to the sale of Minsk Polonaise  systems to Azerbaijan.

At that, he stressed that Armenia will raise this issue this time, as  it did before. According to him, the sale of weapons to Azerbaijan by  Azerbaijan is not very much included in the logic, based on the  partnership and friendly relations between Armenia and Belarus.

To note, according to the Azerbaijani media sources, President Ilham  Aliyev was presented with rocket systems Polonaise and LORA. The  range of fire of this complex is 300 kilometers. The weight of the  rocket is 780 kilograms, the weight of the warhead of the rocket is  140 kilograms. The radius of damage is 80 meters. LORA can be used in both ground and sea bases, to destroy  infrastructure elements (communication nodes, power plants, etc.) and  air defense batteries in the depth of the enemy territory. The range  of fire of this complex exceeds 300 kilometers. The weight of the  rocket is 1580 kilograms. The radius of the lesion is 300 meters.  Each missile has 4 missiles. Readiness of the complex for combat use  is 13 minutes.

The rocket complexes and LORA are controlled by GPS and  INS systems. During his stay as an oppositionist, the current Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan sharply criticized the arms deals between  Minsk and Baku, considering it inappropriate for Armenia to join the  CSTO and the EAEU together with countries such as Belarus and  Kazakhstan that unilaterally support Azerbaijan.

Having assumed the post of Prime Minister Pashinyan, however, he  radically changed his position, declaring the expediency of  continuing Armenia's membership in these structures. And after the  Sochi meeting with the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko,  Pashinyan said that he had discussed the issue of arms supplies to  Azerbaijan with the president, while expressing satisfaction with the  results of the conversation.
