Nalbandian: The consequences of the closure of OSCE Yerevan Office  are related to the essence of the Organization itself

ArmInfo.The consequences of the closure of the OSCE Office in Yerevan are related to the essence of the Organization itself, whose goal is to solve problems through  dialogue and cooperation, rather than imposing the position of the participating State to the detriment of others and the organization.

According to the press service of Armenian MFA, Armenian Foreign  Minister Edward Nalbandian stated during the speech at the 24th  meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna.

"Azerbaijan's refusal to join the consensus on the extension of the  mandate of the Yerevan office of the organization caused damage not  only to the unity of the functioning of the OSCE field missions, but  also opportunities to carry out comprehensive cooperation within the  Organization." Following disrespect for its own obligations in the  OSCE and the closure of the Organization's office in its own country,  Azerbaijan aimed at The Yerevan office closed the last fully  functioning representative office of the Organization in the region,  "Nalbandian said.

According to the Armenian Foreign Minister, the fact that the office  was closed, despite the desire to preserve it both from Armenia and  all OSCE participating States, except Azerbaijan, is particularly  deplorable. Nalbandian recalled that the OSCE, the German and  Austrian presidents denied Azerbaijan's accusations against the  Yerevan office of the Organization. "It is not surprising that  Azerbaijan, having challenged the Yerevan office of the OSCE, is  isolated, we are determined to continue close cooperation within the  OSCE, and the" Cooperation Program with Armenia "provides a good  opportunity for this," Nalbandian summed up.
