Sargsyan-Berdimuhamedov tete-a-tete meeting was held in the residence  of the President of Armenia.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Yerevan on an  official visit at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.As the RA leader's press service told ArmInfo, an official ceremony of the Turkmen leader's meeting took place at the  presidential residence, after which a meeting of the tete-a-tete of the two leaders was held. 

According to Sargsyan, the Armenian-Turkmen relations are friendly  and multi-vector. "Your visit to Armenia is significant and it takes  place on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of  diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan. This is a good  reason to somehow sum up a quarter of a century of cooperation and  outline a further way of interaction. Turkmenistan is a reliable  partner, we are interested in the active development of relations  between our states, and for this there are all the makings. We have  developed active contacts and today we have a good opportunity to  discuss further projects, "the Armenian leader said. In his turn,  Berdimuhamedov also stated that on October 9 of this year marks the  25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between  Armenia and Turkmenistan. 

"I would like to note that over the years, much has been done to  develop political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts  between Armenia and Turkmenistan. This visit will give a new impetus  to the interaction and will reveal new opportunities and potential in  the relationship. I would also like to highlight those foreign policy  issues, for which we are always grateful to Armenia. You always give  us assistance on the issue of our neutrality. Also on the general  issues raised by us at international venues, such as establishing  stability and security around the world, energy security, sustainable  development of transport and transport corridors, especially given  the fact that relevant resolutions have been adopted by the UN and we  will move them to other authoritative international platforms, in  particular, the OSCE, the CIS and others. 

That is why we are doing the right thing, continuing to hold  consultations between foreign ministries of our countries on these  issues. It is necessary to continue them, "the Turkmen leader said.  Touching on trade and economic relations, Berdimuhamedov said that  Turkmenistan has a serious potential. In his opinion, it can be used  in different directions. "Undoubtedly, these are primarily issues of  trade, energy, agriculture, textile industry, health care, and many  other areas. Undoubtedly, the bulk of the burden falls on the  shoulders of the intergovernmental commission on economic  cooperation, which should act as the main coordinator between our  countries. We have many things in the humanitarian sphere. Our  relations have developed in the Middle Ages and it is gratifying to  see that they continue to develop to this day, for the benefit of  future generations, "the Turkmen leader summed up.
