According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, on August 20, 100 rescuers and 10 forestry employees took part in these works. On the territory of the reserve works were carried out on extinguishing 149 smoking foci and 5 smoking trees. On the spot, officers of the Ararat regional administration of the Police of Armenia are on duty.

On the same day at 19.20 the Il- 76 special plane of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia arrived in Armenia to participate in an operation to extinguish fires, which took unprecedented scale in the mountains of Armenia. According to the preliminary data of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on the territory of the Khosrov Reserve, the perimeter of the vegetation is 16 km, of which only the forest - an area of 360 hectares.
