Armenian Government will continue Nation-Army concept implementation  in defense sphere for the next 5 years

Armenian Defense sphere should provide independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, security of the population of RA  and NKR, timely identification, analysis, prevention and neutralization of possible threatens, including military ones, Government new program for 2017-22 states, presented to the adoption of the Parliament.

"Safe atmosphere in Armenia, military-political and military  threatens facing our country indicate that security - is the only key  to development and progress of our country. Creating sufficient military capabilities to  ensure that Armenia and Artsakh require disproportionate for our  state population and economic resources.  At that, the policy pursued  in the defense sphere will continue to be guided by the principles of  the Nation- Army concept, which will allow developing complex and  non-standard solutions based on defense policy and the interrelated  external, economic, social, information, public, educational,  scientific and political directions agreed (integrated) and balanced  decisions on using public trust and ensuring the most effective use  of the potential of Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora ", the defense  program states. 

At the same time, it is stressed that the task of the Government is  to create favorable military and political opportunities that allow  the use of modern achievements of the military industry and military  science, their stimulation, with direct involvement of the  population. Permanent equipping of the Armed Forces with  battle-worthy, modernizing, armament capable of responding to modern  challenges. "Activity the Government in the next 5 years will mainly  focus on ensuring a harmonious and balanced, continuous growth of the  defense sector's capabilities, the executive body plans to continue  equipping Armed Forces with modern weapons and special technical  equipment with the development of the military industry branch and  stimulating its efficiency and economic profit,with the application  of domestic scientific and technical achievements, investments and  through international interaction, "the document reads. 

A the same time, it its stressed that serious emphasis will be put on  the development of the military industry, which will create a  national innovation system, where the Defense Ministry will work  directly with Armenian universities, replenishing the shortage of  personnel. It is also noted that relevant laboratories will be  established at the universities of Armenia Ministry of Defense. The  Government also plans to create flexible mechanisms to manage modern  leadership theories until 2020, and at the same time, until the end  of 2022, to develop defense capabilities and allied and partnership  relations, forming an interconnected system of security guarantees.

At the same time, with the aim of more efficient and targeted  functioning of the defense sector, the Government plans to introduce  an effective and transparent resource management system by the end of  2019. In order to increase the fighting efficiency, training and  military skills of Armed Forces, the Government plans to continue to  improve the procedures for military training, reforming the military  unit, optimizing the composition, etc. until the end of 2020 to  improve combat missions. At the same time, by 2020, the combat alert  system will be improved and equipped with video and surveillance  systems.

At the same time, in order to implement the concept of the  Nation-Army, RA Government plans to increase the attractiveness of  the military service until 2020, expanding the skill component in the  Armed Forces, as well as the component on providing financial  compensation to the families of the deceased and disabled soldiers.
